John McCain is no one's hero anymore
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | July 25, 2017 | Mark Morford

It was, as one Twitter pundit put it, a very good day for cancer.

It was a good day for death, a good day for shameless cruelty, for the worst tendencies of the human animal; it's a good day to have that sickening, sour feeling in your stomach turn to abject disgust at your fellow man – Republicans very much in particular – as the Senate GOP, with coward John McCain’s help, shoved through a motion that will allow them to continue to destroy lives, take away the health care of millions and leave countless thousands to die.

“It seems like there is some suggestion that McCain received preferential treatment based on his status as a veteran.”

TE the writer is a homosexual in San Francisco who is “lamenting” that he’s not getting free medical for himself and his fellow gays who, by reason of their “sexual behavior,” have HIV which is costly to treat. Personally, both he and McCain can take a dirt nap at their earliest convenience. Any good will McCain has received because of his being a POW in Vietnam has long since been erased by what he has done TO his country following his release. I sure won’t miss him.

Okay. Now the pieces are starting to fall into place.

It seems to me the author should prefer that McCain received the treatment the average veteran receives based on what has been reported about the care VA hospitals have been providing over the last few years.

I don't think anybody should receive free medical care for any reason. Mainly because there's no such thing.

The massive indoctrination of paranoia reeks from the writers statements.

The Dims are always talking about the “right” using fear to attract its voting base, while the truth is that the Leftists are masters at employing fear in their indoctrination of the sheeple.

You notice that their sheeple do not demonstrate any independent thought, they just bleep the thought lines the Left has instructed the media to sell.

“I’m somewhat troubled by the suggestion that veterans deserve better care than non-veterans.”

There are many in this country who believe that a veteran should not get better care than an illegal alien who managed to get across the border last night

John McCain appears to be one of those people.

“I don't think anybody should receive free medical care for any reason. Mainly because there's no such thing.”

That's our basic problem TE, our populace has been sold on the idea that there is always a pot full of “other people's money” from which each of us get our “free $hit!” It's the personal injury lawyer's mantra, “ when you screw up, there is aways someone with deep pockets who can be made to pick up the tab. Wreck your car and it's the car's fault and the car maker should pay up. I was on a jury years ago where Chrysler was being sued by a telco employee and the telco for injuries suffered by the employee in a head-on collision the employee had in a telco provided Chrysler automobile. When the plaintiffs lawyer found out I was an engineer, he challenged me off the jury during pre-trial interviews.

So you would deny a veteran his benefits?

Show me a veteran who is treated as well as Senator McCain is. His Senator status got him that medical care, not his veteran's status.

Agree - hate McCain’s traitorous political tendencies in the Senate but he did serve and earn his medical care.

I have no love for McCain but don’t begrudge him his cancer treatment provided by his work related insurance policy.

At 80 the VA told my father “you’re too old for us to try to cure your prostrate cancer”.

Thankfully his wife’s retirement insurance helped him find a doc who kicked the cancer’s butt.

Far too many veteran’s don’t have that extra layer of insurance. My dad got lucky (and is super healthy today). McCain is one of the lucky ones.

McCain has always been a cad and far fro anyone I would call a hero. He abandoned his first wife after she was in a car accident that shortened her height 4 inches, she put on weight because of her vast injuries......had multiple affairs because She was no longer the “model’ he had married... So he dropped her in favor of an affair with money bags Cindy ...of which he chased her for months... So he had a new trophy wife.

He’s no hero either with his military service...

Policy differences are immediately construed as a morality play by leftists. There is no compromising with these people. They must be destroyed in the marketplace of ideas.

“He’s no hero either with his military service...”

Now, he was the $hits of a pilot who had lost several aircraft before being shot down. He was “protected” by his father and grandfather who were Navy Admirals.
And his personal behavior with respect to his first wife is deplorable, as well as his involvement in the S&L Scandal ( where he really should have been prosecuted. And now in his throes of death, he still means to try and force legislation that is counterproductive to the interests of his country. He has much to answer for. Sadly it won’t happen in this life. I just hope what’s left of it is very short.

McCain's going to milk out the attention he has with this brain disease....you can be sure of it. He knew stepping back into the Senate would being him the adulation he craves and lusts for.

I am aware of what you wrote of....he was a lousy military man and it sure wasn't because of his own effort he got where he did.....he rode on his father and grandfathers coattails.....hooked up with anyone who could get him where he wanted to go.... Worst of all he handed us Obama....I will never forgive him for that alone.

“Worst of all he handed us Obama....I will never forgive him for that alone.”

And he conned Sarah Palin into being his running mate, then trashed her so badly that it destroyed any political career she had.
