Why the Rust Belt just gave Donald Trump a hero’s welcome

This town was on fire.

By 1 in the afternoon on Tuesday every main thoroughfare in downtown Youngstown was filled with happy people heading towards the Covelli Centre. Folks dressed in red, white and blue crisscrossed the main grids as vendors sold “Make America Great Again” ball caps, American flags and bottles of water.

Thousands had filled the gravel parking lot to wait until the doors opened at 4, license plates revealing they had traveled as far as Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia to see the president speak directly to them in this Rust Belt city.

Music played on almost every corner as Donald Skowron, a retired Youngstown police officer, drove his green pickup truck up and down Champion Street — in the back, a 6-by-8-foot homemade wooden Trump–Pence sign straddling the bed of the truck, with two large Trump flags flowing from the top.

“I am very happy with the President’s performance so far,” said Skowron. “He has set the exact tone I was looking for, although I’ll be honest I wish he didn’t tweet all of the time, but that is hardly anything to complain.”

Skowron said he is encouraged with reading about the Trump’s constant meetings with industry leaders as well as union and trade members in trying to understand how to create jobs, “We have a President invested in trying to navigate between the people who create jobs and the men and women doing the jobs and how repealing regulations help both.”

Six months after Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States he received a hero’s welcome in this town.

——and the media can’t?-—

It goes deeper than that, much deeper. Imagine Nancy Pelosi on that stage. She constantly utters blather about the working class, jobs and such.

She has few takers.

THIS is what will focus the minds of people (at least those who matter) about Trump, when all is said and done. Jobs are being created, manufacturing is up, people are feeling better about their economic situation, and most of all: They know Trump has their back.

The dems can spin out all the cutesy little slogans about “better deals” all they want, but Americans with operating brain cells know the Obama economy, artificially propped up by QE, is a laughable comparison to what’s in store with Trump’s administration unshackling industry from the hyper-regulation of the past eight years. The other side will be hard pressed to make its economic case when the U.S. economy hits a higher gear and we start regularly seeing >3% annual growth.

Go to Ohio and name sherrod brown, Michigan and name debbie stabinow, West Virginia and name joe manchin etc. This will get their attention and maybe some cooperation.

Ditto re Claire McCaskill in Missouri and Heidi Heitkamp in ND.

Truer words were never written. Reference your Mike Royko, in the San Francisco Bay Area we once had Herb Caen. He too was a man of the people, loved his city, and would be aghast to see what has happened to the once very memorable City By The Bay.

“Wow. How bad is it when a billionaire real estate tycoon connects with the working class and the media can’t?”

Donalds dad didn’t let him skate by on the wealth created by his father and grandfather.
Young Donald had to WORK during his summer breaks.

He spent his summers rubbing elbows with the working class. He worked at everything from floor sweeper to heavy equipment operator.

He might have gone home each evening to the height of luxury but he spent each day sweating under the same workload and the same sun as the hourly worker who went to a simple place he called home.

Moreover, young Donald LISTENED and heard the frustrations of the men he worked beside as well as their hopes and dreams.

That is how he can connect with us “little people”, he has seen our world up close and personally.

The perfumed princes of the MSM?
Not so much.

They are forcing the Deep State to count heads.

Count the rally attendees, and multiply by the average size of a magazine. That’s what you’ll be facing if you pull the trigger on a coup.
