A sorry and shameful saga has come to a close in London, where the parents of gravely ill infant Charlie Gard have decided not to seek a last-ditch treatment that might have saved his life. Charlie Gard is a dying baby with an incredibly rare disease, one which has no known cure yet. His parents, desiring as most parents do to grant their child life rather than deny him it, wished to take him to the United States for a long-shot experimental treatment. They raised all the necessary funds to do so, and they would have done sohad not the hospital treating Charlie prevented this by way of the British courts.
The hospital, and the courts, wonnot because Charlie is dead (at the time of this writing he is still alive) but because, by denying Charlies parents the right to seek treatment in the United States then wasting time through a protracted legal process, the defendants in the case effectively ran out the clock on Charlie, in the same way a professional football team will run out the clock at the end of the fourth quarter. Death at the Hands of Well-Educated Barbarians
The courts and hospital staff doubtlessly knew there was only a small window of opportunity for Charlie to seek the medical treatment he needed to save his life. All they had to do was wait for Charlies condition to worsen past the point of absolute no return and they would get their way. So they did. There is one simple reason for Charlies muscles deteriorating to the extent they are in now time. A whole lot of wasted time, Charlies mother said in a statement. Our poor boy has been left there to lie in a hospital without treatment while court battles are fought.

Disgusting.
Absolute travesty
Hey Millennials, you still want Bernie and his socialized medicine? Wait til this happens to your kid . . or your sisters . . or your best friends.
Be like Denmark! Be like Britain! Socialized medicine and the abortion loving bureaucracy, YEAH!
Ditto that !
They did on my FIL’s life as well. “Too old to treat”.
That’s what I felt. All the red tape before letting Charlie leave the country was the British elites determining they could not let their single-payer health care system be embarrassed like that so they kept Charlie until he was almost dead to prevent anyone else from healing him.
Not unlike North Korea releasing that 22-year-old student just before he died. The Norks were reasonably sure he would die shortly but gave him back to his family just in time to watch him die.
Yes, I’m comparing British doctors to North Korean army killers.
The British legal system seems very similar to Nazi and East Germany. Imperfect humans die and no one leaves. PM May has blood on her hands for not intervening and telling the hospital to let them leave. Butchers.
If you can, you should be able to take your baby somewhere for treatment.
This is what you get with communism. All are alike. No one is allowed to be different, except the ruling elite which can do whatever it wants to.
Who said Britain does not have capital punishment.
disgusting! deliberate murder, they should be charged!
but one good thing..... this is a spectacular example of what happens to people when socialized medicine is imposed on them.... the State becomes your judge, jury,...... and executioner.
All children are property of the State, comrade!
It looks like the North Koreans will have had more compassion than the so called "doctors" at GOSH (Now to be known as Horror Hospital) -At least they gave their prisoner back to his parents at the end.
It would interesting to be in the room when all of these UK governmental “authorities” stand before God and give an accounting of themselves.
I still can’t understand how the hospital can legally tell parents, “No, you can’t take your child out of our hospital. He’s ours now.” I mean, I guess it must be British law, but it shocks me.
And this is the ‘’health care’’ system the liberal idiots want here. How come Planned Parenthood isn’t up in arms about this?
Everyone involved has an address.
Just saying.
L
- - - We must GARD against single payer!! It will kill us !!!!!!
The parents should be granted admittance to the United States under The Refugee Act.
Law Prof On Charlie Gard Case: Children Do Not Belong To Their Parents
A law professor stated Monday that children do not belong to their parents when discussing the Charlie Gard case.
Law professor Ian Kennedy, who teaches health law, policy and ethics at the University College London, made the remark in a column for The Guardian.
Death panels operate the same way HMO approvals used to work - run out the clock on approval until the claimant is dead.
