Parents have expressed anger after President Donald Trump delivered a highly politicised speech to tens of thousands of boy scouts.
Mr Trump started by saying: "Who the hell wants to speak about politics?"
But his speech to the Jamboree in West Virginia railed against Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the "cesspool" of politics, drawing whoops and cheers.
One parent wrote: "Done with scouts after you felt the need to have my kid listen to a liar stroke his ego."
The Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of America is held every four years and drew about 35,000 scouts from the ages of 12 to 18 to the latest event, held in Beaver, West Virginia, on Monday evening.
The Jamboree had issued a warning on its blog about being respectful.
It read: "Chants of certain phrases heard during the campaign (e.g. 'build the wall', 'lock her up') are considered divisive by many members of our audience, and may cause unnecessary friction."
But in a rambling 35-minute speech, Mr Trump whipped up a response of boos, cheers, chants and jeers as he lambasted fake news, Hillary Clinton's election campaign and President Obama's failure to address a Jamboree in person.

Scouting is not what it was and my kids have decided that they are no longer interested.

Back in the day (1970’s) the leaders were all men...who were WWII and Korean War vets. They treated the boys like men, and let them be boys at the same time. Scouting is unrecognizable from the past.
Trump could have stuck to his prepared speech and half the parents would still be pissed and half would be cheering him on.
Of course. The media still wanted to act as if we should believe them over our own eyes and ears. We know the crowd loved it and in West Virginia no less.
But, wow, I remember my Jamboree. Sure, we had off time shirts and shorts, but every member of the troop was in full summer uniform before going anywhere outside of camp. It was a matter of pride.
I see photos of the event, and shake my head at that sea of colors. Way to go BSA to organize a national event where only a few are wearing the uniform.
First of all, Trump showed up, Obama did not. Score for Trump.
Many of the children who have gone through elementary school during the last eight years hate Obama due to the administration’s successful program to restrict calories at lunch time as well as changing the menu so that much of the food can’t be identified. According to my younger friends, it became inedible.
So, the excitement was high. Future conservatives in the making.
Believe me, it wasn’t half of anything. The overwhelming majority loved the speech at least according to my own eyes and ears.
So his “attack” on Obama was raising the fact that Obama never made a personal appearance to the scout jamboree? As usual, Liberals hate facts.
On the other side, was it a speech I think Trump should have given? No. A speech praising the scouts and scouting, and telling the scouts to keep up their scouting values into their adult lives, would have been better.

Yep typical media lazy propaganda. As if they should believe comments on a Facebook page or blog as someone claiming to be a parent and “outraged”. They just needed something to scream a headline like this without any verification or facts.

Obama was never a Boy Scout ... not his style. Smoking choom was his thing at that age.
Me too. There were times during that speech when it seemed to me that the President forgot who his audience was. Mainly teenage boys. I really felt it should have been a lot less political and more inspirational.
Save the politial stuff for regular rallies...and do more of them>
I have no respect for ANY parent who would keep his/her sons/DAUGHTERS in boy scouts after the blatant treachery committed. This organization is dead, they just don’t know it.
Be interesting to meet this guy again when he’s(?) 50 y/o. Assuming he lives that long, AIDS, HIV, STDs, etc.

BSA is but a shadow of it’s founders’ ideals.
They probably do not feel as angry as I was whenever Obama came on TV to lie.
