Last visit to Sweden by me was in January 1969. It was the most pristine, cleanest, friendliest, most modern country I had ever visited. They even had self serve gas stations then, where gas was pumped first (without a credit card) and then go inside to pay for it. I never saw any slums in Stockholm and other cities I visited north of Stockholm. All the in-laws I met in Sweden were the nicest people. But alas, nice guys finish last is still true.
70s for me and was as you said. Too bad they have brought this on themselves.
