Its always exciting as a parent when your child demonstrates the desire and drive to work hard and earn something.
Running a lemonade stand is one of the simplest, best ways for youngsters to dip their toes into the working world.
Like many, my kids have created stands on several occasions, and its inspiring to watch them learn and grow through the experience. No book can teach your kid the value of a dollar. Working outside in the hot sun all day long most certainly can.
So, one California dad was pleased when his daughter decided shed try to take advantage of the summer sunshine and earn a few bucks. Richard LaRoche says his daughter got set up and was barely underway, when a man showed up. According to LaRoche:
"The man just pulled up next to her and asked for her business license and then told her Im calling the police and then got on the phone and began speaking as if he was talking to police. She was so scared that she came home crying and sobbing and said she didnt want to go to jail."

Good post. Thanks.
I would say older white male who works in a government job.
“WHAT was the race of the person who pulled this on her..?”
Race-baiting over this issue? Really?
Ok
Every HOA has it’s would-be Nazi or even a clique of them, and they’re quite frequently older, liberal, white and female. So, I wouldn’t bet on your assumption.
Where did you get he idea that this was a HOA person?
.
Because of the behavior, it’s very typical HOA Nazi crap.
So the tough guy didn’t hang around long enough to tell Dad he was calling the cops, just wanted to scare a little girl? Real tough guy. Glad this worked out so well, great photo of the little girl and her new cop friends. Well done!
Whenever I drive past a lemonade stand I make a bat turn and stop to buy something. Usually leave a tip too.
My siblings and I used to carry a table & chair, a cooler full of lemonade, and a gallon of homemade root beer across a major highway to the beach, where we took turns tending to our clients. We were 13, 10 and 8.
We did so well, the Kiwanis built a concession stand, and had the po-po prevent our setting up ever again.
Yeah be cause I’m sure black people really are known to call the police on lemonade stands after asking the kid for a business license.
Like who the hell are you kidding?
When you get tired, tag me in
That was the first image that popped into my mind. With a good chance of fatness! ;^)
Read the thread, HORSE’S ASS..!
Special kind of stupid, aren’t ya.
“...this is a white liberal woman type of thing. Minimum of 5 angry bumper stickers likely on her car, too.”
Right. Nobody hates white people like white liberals hate white people.
To the rest:
This is a sick era unlike any before. The girl looks to be around 10. So tell me the places you would take your 10 year old daughter, IN THIS DAY AND AGE, and leave her alone for an hour, away from your supervision?
A concert? A mall? The worst section of the worst city in your state?
So what's to stop any of the folks you'd be concerned about in those venues from driving down the street you left your daughter alone on and quickly grabbing her?
I live in a ‘safe’ suburban area and have always tried to stop for a lemonade stand whenever possible. NEVER have the kids been unsupervised.
Oh, and one more thing, Cobol, you are a major douche if you already forgot!
Sounds like my car, I’ve 8 JESUS, Pro Military, POW, Navy Wife, heart PD, American flag, Pro Gun, Life, GOD, Vets before refugees. Some say more than 1 thing. Hubby calls it a rolling billboard and doesn’t like driving it.
He sticks to Ret Navy with his rank.
