President Trump is talking to Senator Ted Cruz and others about what they would do differently as Attorney General, should Jeff Sessions resign, as reports indicate.
White House sources also report President Trump was truthful when he made comments expressing buyer’s remorse over appointing Jeff Sessions to the role. Trump staffers believe Sessions, Donald Trump Jr, and Rohrabacher aide Paul Behrends were unfairly scapegoated due to the left-wing Russia narrative.
In addition, a replacement for special prosecutor Bob Mueller is being acitvely discussed as the President weighs the decision to fire the Rosenstein-appointed prosecutor. Many within the Trump camp see Mueller as acting in bad faith with the investigation due to partisanship, and are urging the appointment of a truly independent alternative.
Facing criticism as a political witch hunt by many, Bob Mueller has hired a who’s who of liberal activists as his team of prosecuting attorneys. Research on Muller’s prosecutors is being conducted for the administration by Chuck Johnson’s team. Finally, top Trump donors are funding their own research operation independent of the White House in order to push back against the media’s fake Russia narrative conspiracy theory.

I’m part of Trumps base, and I’ve been disappointed with Sessions. He’s an honorable man, but not right for the battle that’s going on. Plus he just approved more asset seizures by police before a person is found guilty.

I don’t think Trump is one to forget that, nor should he. It may be disinformation rather than fake news, however.
Even if Trump is, Cruz isn't. I don't put a lot of stock in this either.
Ted Cruz was pro-amnesty, pro-guest worker and pro-free trade/TPP. Trump ran explicitly against Ted Cruz style conservatism.
I guess for conservatives who didn’t support Trump from the beginning, a move back towards Globalism is good.
Trump’s ‘closest and most trusted’ advisor, Ivanka Trump, is as New World Order/globalist as you can get.
She’s pursuing her own leftist social agenda largely unabated. None of it, by the way, coincides with returning this country to be the land of the free; the home of the brave.
To imply tapping Ted Cruz is somehow a break from tradition is to ignore the facts.
I’m not sure throwing Sessions under the bus is a good idea. In fact, I think it’s a bad idea. The base likes him.

Trump should have Sessions appoint a second special prosecutor to investigate Seth Rich’s death & the DNC server,....it could be broadened to include Clinton fundraising crimes, unmasking for political espionage purposes, the Lynch/Clinton Obstruction of Justice, leaking of classified info out of the Deep State, Mueller & Comey’s ties to the DNC....turn the FBI lose on real criminality....
That is a great idea!!!!! They should do that immediately. You wanna stop the press from publishing leaks? Start leaking fake info about info that is being dug up on the DNC and bill and Hillary. They will stop writing anything about any investigations.
Cruz seems too nice. It always felt like his wife was the boss of that outfit.
Actually I’m increasingly sure that the base hates Sessions more and more as time goes by.
Bannon is going nowhere. Everything he had done for Trump has worked.

I was and still am a Cruz man. But it is quite clear he would have been crushed by the Deep State. He may well be the one for 2024 after Trump has cleared out some of the stumps.
I think Cruz would clean clock as AG.
