Are you certain it was a glioblastoma and not any other type of brain cancer? There are many types of cancer cells and tumors. People rarely survive a glioblastoma for more than 1-2 yrs, 5 yrs at the outside.
Good for your brother-in-law, whatever he had, to be still around. I’m a 15 yr cancer survivor, but it wasn’t a glioblastoma! If I were John McCain with that diagnosis, I’d be wrapping up my affairs, resigning from the Senate, and spending whatever months I had remaining with my loved ones.

He was diagnosed with GBM in April of that year and was told that he most likely wouldn’t see Christmas. I posted in another reply the details of the treatment. It was in fact the same type of cancer.
