President Trump lashed out at Attorney General Jeff Sessions in an interview on Wednesday, saying that he would have picked somebody else for attorney general if he had known that Sessions was going to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.
Sessions should have never recused himself and if he was going to recuse himself he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else, Trump told The New York Times.

Only belligerent scoundrels need apply.
He seems a little busy going after pot busts and increasing forfeitures. Sheesh. He seemed so good on the campaign trail, what happened to him?
The Texas Governor. If he can be spared.
Trump needed a bulldog and what he got was a yorkie.
But I seem to recall Sessions offering to resign once and Trump turning him down.
Oh,please. Unless Sessions has plans to try the big fish, he’s useless.
Perhaps you didn’t read the legal brief that said that DOJ ethics rules did not require Sessions to recuse himself. He was fooled by careerists. Do you think Holder followed any rules when he ran guns to Mexico, investigated journalists and politicians, shielded Obama from any investigations and then stonewalled Congress?
Sessions needed to be a firewall instead of a dummy.
I see we still have nevertrumpers lurking about.
“Sessions didnt have to recuse himself...”
You would think that after all his years in the Senate, he would have understood the opposition.
Wrong man for this job.
Jeeff, we have enough to sent a lot of people to jail. Either you do it or join them.
It’s been 6 months and not one indictment from this DOJ, with all the stuff going on, not one.
Jay Sekulow is a bulldog.
He seems fearless to me, not unlike the president.
“Only belligerent scoundrels need apply.”
Fight fire with fire. You don’t abandon your post because the Democrats’ feelings may be hurt. You loyally defend your principles to the end.
You understand correctly, at least you have the rule/reason correct. A popular sentiment here is that the rules don't apply. So, if Rudy had been nominated, Rudy would not have recused, because Rudy is a fighter and Sessions is not.
Meaning, of course, that it’s not okay to oppose nepotism and amateurism. Folks who cannot judge politicians on their merits and who are loyal to them without regard to the consequences of their actions are not different than Obamabots.
Sessions needed to recuse himself, not collaborate in a conspiracy.
Has anyone even seen Sessions lately..he has disappeared from the face of the earth no one has seen him..no one hears him anymore..why isn’t he prosecuting the Clintons and their hired goons
“I think it was unwise of Trump to make such a statement in a public interview.”
That’s my thinking too.
Sounds fishy to me, too.
Let’s see if Trump corrects this story in an upcoming tweet.
The weakness of the AG is bringing the administration down and keeps the Russia narrative 24/7.
I think an AG with some stones who puts in some good punches to the Clinton and Obama Cartel will substantially knock the Russia BS down.
Seems to me that President Trump wants Sessions to resign. I do understand his anger with Sessions, and probably feels Sessions could have closed this door to Russia, and it never goes away.
