If you back out California from the rest of the country, then Trump would have won both popular and electoral votes comfortably.


Actually, not even all of California.

If you subtract just LA County and NYC, Trump would have run by about 4 million votes

Wow, that’s incredible to think about.

If we subtract LA County and New York City, Trump is comfortably elected by the rest of America. Amazing to think about.

I’m sure you have seen some maps, which show the county by county vote across the country. It’s very interesting to see that the bulk of the country at the county level, is red, for Republican, for Trump. Hillary’s support was concentrated in the northeast and midwest and Pacific liberal corridors. Those liberal places are such narrow swaths of America.
