Full Title: "AUDIO RELEASED=> Shooting of MN Woman By Somali Cop Mohamed Noor While She Was Talking to His Partner"
Somali American police officer Mohamed Noor shot Aussie Justine Damond dead this past weekend.
Mohamed Noor reached over his partner and shot Damond dead while she was speaking to his partner.
Damond called the police to report a possible assault down the alley behind her home.
Mohamed was the first Somali officer in his precinct.
Damond was shot and killed while wearing her pajamas and speaking to another police officer after calling 911 to report a possible assault in an alley behind her home on July 15, reports The Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Noor's partner was described as "stunned" by the shooting.
CBS Minneapolis reported that Damond "made the 911 call and was speaking to police officers Saturday night. They were near the alley when the officer in the passenger seat reached across and shot her. A cell phone was found near Damond's body."
Now this...
The Minneapolis police released audio from the Justine Damond shooting.

I don’t, but I heard that reported on the TODAY show this morning
In law, homicide simply means the killing of a person. But, not all homicides are crimes. Homicides include all killings of humans. Many homicides, such as murder and manslaughter, violate criminal laws. Others, such as a killing committed in justified self defense are not crimes.
And I hear the body cams were turned off. That’s another question to be answered.
Thank you. I did not know that.
No indications she was chasing any one.
She obviously went out to me the cops.
To assume she was chasing any one, especially a sexual predator, is lunacy
“The County Corner has already ruled her death a homicide.”
FYI - “homicide” just means “the act of killing another person”. It does NOT indicate fault/guilt (e.g., murder, manslaughter, etc.).
IOW - if you kill a person in self-defense, their death would still be a “homicide” (albeit ‘justifiable’).
All that being said, I am VERY interested in hearing how the officer “justified” this shooting of an unarmed woman. My guess is that he will claim that he thought her cell phone was a gun.
Dont waste your time, especially at dial up speeds
Of course it was a homicide. It wasn't a suicide. She didn't die of cancer.
"Homicide" only means "killed by another person" and is not necessarily criminal.
Correct.
------
In Forensic Pathology 'Manner of Death' is defined as how the death came about; a judgment based on circumstances surrounding the fatal event.
In most jurisdictions the following categories are used:
Natural: due entirely (or nearly so) to natural disease processes.
Homicide: due to a volitional act of another person with the intent to cause fear, harm or death. Homicidal manner does not indicate a criminal homicide, which is determined by the legal process and not by the certifier of death.
Suicide: due to injury that occurred with the intent to induce self harm or cause one's own death.
Accident: due to injury when there is no evidence of intent to harm.
Undetermined: inadequate information regarding the circumstances of death to determine manner; example: individual found unconscious with massive subdural hemorrhage; in the absence of information on the events leading up to death, it is impossible to determine if the hemorrhage is due to accidental fall, homicidal violence, etc.
When death is due to a combination of natural and unnatural events, preference is generally given to the nonnatural cause; example: a man suffers a myocardial infarction while swimming in the ocean, loses consciousness, and drowns; the manner of death is ruled accident, as he may potentially have survived if the fatal myocardial infarction had occurred on land.
The "but for" principle asks the question "But for the inciting injury (or event), would the decedent still be alive?"
In most jurisdictions, deaths due to motor vehicle collisions are considered accidental in manner.
Deaths due to complications of medical therapy that are reasonably expectable (e.g. neutropenia due to chemotherapy, digoxin toxicity) are considered natural.
Deaths due to improper use of medical devices or improper therapy (e.g. malfunctioning morphine drip, failure to repair obvious arterial injury inflicted during surgery) are considered accidental.
While acute alcohol or drug toxicity is considered an accidental death, deaths due to consequences of chronic substance abuse (hepatic cirrhosis due to ethanol abuse, endocarditis secondary to IV drug use) are conventionally considered natural in manner.
If you want to go talk to the cops in your PJs, I won’t try to stop you from doing that either.
What kind of homicide? Homicides range from justifiable to murder 1.
I think he had his booger hooks on the bang switch and will be charged with negligent homicide IMHO.
This must have been jihad. No other explanation - at least not yet.
Only other witness is the other cop.....BS. He probably found riding with the turd as punishment. I know. For punishment I was given the ass...e of the squad. I told him he was on riverine patrol, look for stolen boats. I brought coffee and lunch for the turd. One time I forgot to pick him up at COB.
The Moslem is a Christianphobe.
“I think he had his booger hooks on the bang switch and will be charged with negligent homicide IMHO.”
You’re probably right and I suspect it was a Glock. I’ll take my Beretta Model 96 any time because the first shot takes a strong DA pull.
You can look on Google Maps street view - it looks like a pretty nice area.
Another thing that bears repeating is that he shot her multiple times according to reports yesterday. That is NOT an accidental discharge. He intended to kill her.
