The partner of a Minneapolis cop who shot dead bride-to-be Justine Damond was 'stunned' when the officer opened fire through a squad car door, sources say.
Officer Matthew Harrity, who was in the driving seat, was speaking to Damond after she called 911 to report a sexual assault occurring near her home, when his partner reached across him and fatally shot her in the abdomen.
A police source told KARE11 that Harrity was 'left stunned' by Noor's actions.
The revelation makes the motive for shooting all the more mysterious as it appears that Harrity did not view Damond as posing a threat.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, BCA, investigating the incident, is remaining tight lipped about what happened late that Saturday night until they finish interviewing Noor and Harrity as part of their probe.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Minneapolis Betsy Hodges is demanding to know why neither officer had their bodycam turned on at the time, which she called a 'key question' for investigators.

I notice that the word, “Muslim,” doesn’t appear anywhere in the article.
Too bad for the lamestreams that the name “Mohammed” tends to give the game away.
I'd have to say "no" in this case.
Think about it, if you're sitting on the passenger side of the car, is your view of someone standing on the driver's side of the car, outside the driver's window, better than the driver's view? Especially with the driver in the way? Not likely.
I would not be surprised if the cameras were NOT turned off but the pro-diversity powers that be simply destroyed the evidence because of the thought of hearing the recording of “Allahu achbar! bang! bang! bang!” might ruin their plans to further destroy policing in America.
Once Noor is found guilty, there will be protests I’m sure.
Plus she was a witness- an informant of sorts.
It would be difficult to get informants to inform in many cases if they thought they were being video recorded. They’d be afraid of the person they informed on getting a copy.
The coroner would be able to make a call on that one-— if she was shot while at the door of the car then the outside of the car door will probably have blood spatters on it in a pattern and the appearance of the holes in the door [unless he leaned over far enough to aim out the window and down] will tell which way the bullets were going. Since she was shot in the abdomen- unless she was very tall- the bullets would have to pass through the door if he wasn’t stretching enough to shoot out the window at a downward angle.
Lawyer up immediately. Having “chest pains” and asking for an ambulance is always a good idea, too.
“The Mayor has a right to demand to know why the cameras were turned off “
Words mean things, words “imply” things.
The cameras were NOT turned OFF.
They weren’t turned ON.
YUGE difference!
At least as far as anyone has reported. They don’t drive around in their patrol cars with the cameras ON. They turn them ON depending on the circumstances.
Would this be like only turning on the cockpit voice recorder when you realize that you are going to crash?
Pilot: Help me pull out of this dive!
Copilot: Just a sec, I’ve got to turn on the ............
I notice that he is doing the strict islamist thing of wearing gloves so as not to touch infidels in that picture.
Splitting hairs, at some point the cameras were turned off if they have ever been turned on. I saw somewhere that the cameras in the MPD are not always required to be on and just talking to someone standing by the car while they are in the car is one of those cases where cameras are not required. The audio seems to start after the shot, you hear someone calling for an ambulance and saying shots have been fired. That comes from the dash cam so it should also have recorded the sound of the shots.
The body cam issue is nothing more than a deflection by the mayor and others.
Not according to MPD body cam policy: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/police/policy/mpdpolicy_4-200_4-200
you'd think they should go on when you take a call like that, possible sexual assault, so you don't forget about it later
Maybe the PD can’t afford 24/7 video recording for each officer (via cellular? via city WiFi?) for 800 officers. That is a lot of gigabytes.
Jist depends on the policy....
