I have been here three plus years and have yet to see a muslim.
Detroit, Ann Arbor and Lansing are all six hours from me.
Michigan is a vast state of forest and lakes with three leftist cities way down there by Ohio. The rest of us take our guns everywhere, drive pickups, and open doors for others.
The left would have you believe there is no life out side the cities.
While there is merit to your point that Michigan is more than the cities, most of the cities are leftist. This includes the I-75 corridor (Flint, Saginaw, Bay City), Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, etc. Plus, northern lower and the UP tend to have a leftist bent, probably from the welfare crowd up there. They elected Dems for many years, until they threw out the Dem rep who betrayed them and voted for Obamacare. In any event, Michigan is split about 50/50 between patriotic Americans and the leftists.
Thank you for correcting some of the hysterical posters here. I've spent some time in Michigan and as you state, it's mostly woods, lakes...mostly beautiful country. Never once set foot in Detroit.
Even here in Connecticut, which is a "small" state, there are vast stretches of nearly untouched woodlands with tons of lakes, rivers and streams.
People who stay in the cities have no idea how rural this country really is. I live in Fairfield Country which is the most densely populated county in the 4th most densely populated state in the country. Yet even here, there is so much wilderness. I live on the Newtown/Easton line and I have to travel nearly 10 miles to get to the nearest grocery store. Getting there requires navigating miles of narrow, twisting country roads where you have to watch for deer and other wildlife.
That all said, it's good to hear about the major Muslim bust there in Michigan. Every little bit helps.
Dearborn & Southfield seem to be the problem areas. I couldn’t get “pork fried rice” at a restaurant, then I knew why.
Sterling Heights is the opposite - all Chaldean, Iraqi Christians. You see “Save Iraqi Christians” bumper stickers *everywhere*.
6 hours from you? Are you a Uper or an Eskimo?
