I suspect there's an audience shift happening here.

Let me make my case and hear others' reaction:

1. Fox wants ratings like all the cable channels. And during the election they mixed it up with the Trump hate squad: Megyn Kelly and others.
   
   
2. But with Ailes gone, any desire to defend a conservative view is much reduced. They want high ratings to sell ads.
   
   
3. Most of the smart people have stopped watching TV news. They can find what they want on YouTube where there's no commercials.
   
   
4. That leaves a much smaller -- and less desirable in buying power -- audience to fight for among the cable channels.
   
   
5. So Fox aims to remain king of cable news and that means catering to the Trump-haters and Obama phone crowd who watch TV news, so they will wean themselves of their remaining Deplorable audience - and throw them an occasional bone.
   
   
6. They also figure it's just a matter of time where social media channels supporting Trump will appear. So trying to lead the Trump parade is not going to work for them. Bill Mitchell, for example, is leading a push into a pro-Trump TV/social media platform with his YourVoice America.

I think we should all sit on the sofa and await the new conservative leaning programs which will be airing (with the LORDs help) in the coming months. New faces, some unknown to us at this time; old faces vanished. Read just yesterday Megyn’s future outlook at her new non-FOX network is already on the skids.
