“minimally invasive craniotomy”

Maybe it was minimally because they suspected the answer before drilling? No surgery is without risk either. Just the administering of anesthesia can cause problems not to mention what you can “catch” while in the hospital.

Regarding him, why back to Az? Is not John's Hopkins and Bethesda Naval Hospital close by DC? This has the sounds of not coming back any time soon to me.

First, apologies for the tardy response. Life got unexpectedly busy for a few days.

Second, I take your drift that it’s as minimal as possible and perhaps not too dangerous but my personal heebie jeebies wont allow me to think of something going in my skull as anything other than four-alarm huge.

But I’m not a veteran that’s been through his life...

Lastly, I did some rough looking and every source I found for a one week recuperation eventually went back to Mitch McM’s office. Wishful thinking on his part? It seems like the family expected longer.

Then, behold, it comes out a few hours ago that they pulled out a tumor in addition to a blood clot. Through the end of the August recess, at a minimum, seems appropriate. Assuming he hasn’t made plans for ill-health and resigning. Even he has limits and I think he prepares for ugly ends.
