And that the Russian lobbyist, Rinat Akhmetshin, attending the meeting at the request of the lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, was a Kremlin intelligence operative. This is ludicrous. Akhmetshin is an American citizen who denies working with the Kremlin. Why would the USG admit this guy into the US, give him a green card, and allow him to become a citizen if he is working for Russian intelligence?
The GPS Fusion connection is the common denominator among all of them. It appears to be a setup to entrap the Trump campaign. I smell the hand of Brennan in all of this. These "Russian" connections were used as the pretext to conduct surveillance of the Trump campaign. The FBI began its investigation of the Trump campaign "collusion" with Russia in July 2016, a month after this meeting.
I am surprised Seculow did not mention the GPS Fusion connection. And he should have emphasized that the characterization of Russian involvement was written by a British publicist, Goldstone, who was noted for hyperbole and name dropping. Why would DJT Jr. go to the FBI just on the basis of this email from a friend/acquaintance who was trying to arrange a meeting? The meeting itself appears to contradict Goldstone's characterization contained in his email. There was no Russian government connection and the subject was adoption, a classic bait and switch. Goldstone has some 'splanin to do.
