The bait for a FISA warrant makes sense, I remember reading when this whole FISA story broke that intelligence agencies were monitoring Russian “persons of intetest”, so this Russian lawyer honeypot would’ve been all they needed.
The cutout emails dont make sense if talking about the lawyer. It looks to me like he was talking about Chaika. Mcfaul has indicted that basically these days you dont operate like this without approval of the Kremlin.
That doesnt mean chaika was involved..but the guy was making it sound like he was ...thus perhaps leading to the trap.
