A decade after the Islamist group Hamas seized Gaza, the Palestinian enclave is effectively unliveable for its 2 million people, with declining incomes, healthcare, education, electricity and fresh water, the United Nations said.
In a report examining humanitarian conditions in the territory, which Hamas took over in June 2007 after a brief conflict with forces loyal to the Palestinian Authority, the United Nations concludes the situation in Gaza is deteriorating "further and faster" than was forecast only a few years ago.
"Across the board we're watching de-development in slow motion," Robert Piper, the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Aid and Development Activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, told Reuters in an interview on Tuesday.
"Every indicator, from energy to water to healthcare to employment to poverty to food insecurity, every indicator is declining. Gazans have been going through this slow motion de-development now for a decade."
"I see this extraordinarily inhuman and unjust process of strangling gradually two million civilians in Gaza that really pose a threat to nobody," said Piper.
Asked who was doing the strangling, he replied:
"Everyone's having a go," mentioning internal Palestinian political strife, Israeli security policies that leave Gazans caught in the middle, and regional dynamics including pressure on Qatar, a major donor to Hamas, from Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Aaaaand .... It’s the Jews fault ...
All of those decades of rock throwing begs the question, why can’t they produce even one minor league baseball player?
Does the UN blame the Jews and the United States?
Kinda like the democrats blaming everyone when they destroy cities in the US.
UNLESS it is during an election cycle during which the propaganda shifts to portray Gaza in a much more promising/prosperous light.
The following video(s) illustrate Gaza's vibrate and flourishing markets, luxury hotels and restaurants (Gaza City Roots - Lonely Planet calls the Roots Club, the best restaurant in Gaza, universities, water parks, amusement rides, beaches & 5 star beach side resorts (Al-Mashtal Hotel), Equestrian Clubs - (see Gaza Jabaliya Horse Club, Gaza Kite Festival etc. Hardly the destitute image. video: Gaza 2016 - Hamas Propaganda
When the Israelis were leaving Gaza, some liberal Jews bought a thriving nursery there and turned it over to the Palestinians. Within days they were ransacking the place, tearing out pipes, etc. until nothing but a shell remained.
YUP!
Islam is deadly to all living things.
“we write symphonies..”
the humanitarian thing to do is to help them move back to Muslim countries, out of Israel (all of them).
but instead USA keeps funding the mass-murdering terrorist Abbas/PLO gangsters....and even “meeting with them”...
DISGUSTING!!!!!!!! America is far, FAR better than that! Absolutely sickening!
hey, President Trump...respectfully sir..its past time already to DRAIN THE SWAMP especially all those Snake Department and other IslamoNazi agents and enablers who’ve infiltrated into “our” government... (like also the ones that helped Obama fund and arm the ISIS branch of Muslim terrorist gangsters, you know the ones who enjoyed BBQing and crucifying Christians?)
Hamas must have hired economic consultants from the DNC.
Most intelligent and employable Gazans fled the Strip within ten years of the 6 day war of 1967. What is left today are the dregs of Palestinian society. No one wants them, especially Muslim nations.
No sympathy for Islamic cockroaches. None!
That’s exactly what I was referring to.
Thanks for posting the link . I was to lazy to search for it.
I don’t know why no Arab country wants them. They behaved so well when they visited Kuwait in 1990-91.
That is actually a GREAT idea. Tell the people in Gaza that Israel is willing to take all two-million residents to a wonderful land up north where they will receive all sorts of free stuff from the German government. Hire the boats and release said residents in Hamburg where they can meet all the nice Antifa types, who have gathered for a "peaceful" protest.
I thought all that was needed to create a Palestinian paradise was to end the "occupation"? Not so?
we write symphonies..
While Hamas, on behalf of and with the resources of Gaza, is devoted to murdering its neighbor.
US Taxpayers have likely given 10’s of millions (if not billions) of dollars over time to these criminal terrorist freaks. What are they doing with the money...other than murdering Jews? Enough already.

And just how is this any different than what we’ve done for the Blacks here in America? $hit people are $hit people the world over, and no amount of money will be able to cure that specific problem. For me, it’s sink or swim time for both groups. Make a life for yourself by your own hand or die. Simple as that. Either way, the world will end up being a better place. Our financial resource have much, much more pressing uses that “taking care” of both groups.
Humanitarian approach - help move them to their own Muslim- conquered lands, and since most of these are from Egypt and the Egyptians managed to free themselves from Obama’s Muslim Brotherhood terrorist gang regime —divert all aid from PLO- pa- Abbas and other Muslim murder gangs into a genuine humanitarian repatriation fund for Muslims occupying any of israel’s territories — aid to recipient Muslim countries included since “they don’t really want the so-called “Palestinians” “ but this is the path to peace — otherwuse they’ll just keep murdering innocent Jews and Christians and causing more and more trouble. ( and eventually get themselves killed anyway).
And everyone is determined to remain in denial about it until they've dragged the entire human race back to the Dark Ages.
