Long After Protests, Students Shun the University of Missouri
NY Times ^ | July 9, 2017 | Aenmona Hartocollis

In the fall of 2015, a grassy quadrangle at the center of the University of Missouri became known nationwide as the command center of an escalating protest.

Students complaining of official inaction in the face of racial bigotry joined forces with a graduate student on a hunger strike. Within weeks, with the aid of the football team, they had forced the university system president and the campus chancellor to resign.

Good.

Hope they go out of business. Or fire the SJWs and relaunch the school as a real university instead of an indoctrination camp.

“Aenmona Hartocollis”

Is this someone’s name? Or a bacterial infection?

Just curious.

The “protests” were nothing more than politically motivated frauds, black radicals being used by mostly white “professors” admins and “activists” to stage phony accusations.

That there were no followup, bona fide investigations into the dorm “poop Swastika” and the N-word (hundreds of times) alleged by an affirmative action associate professor in the world famous J-School was further indication of how rotten phony this whole charade was.

The FB coach “retired” the AD bolted for Baylor of all places, and recruiting of both athletes and students took a nosedive.

What goes around . . .

Other schools took notice, like Ohio State and put an IMMEDIATE STOP to anything that started to look like a similar “protest” MizZOO was the guinea pig and is paying the price.

You just can’t fix STUPID

As a dad and the one who pays for college education of three daughters, I had a say into what they studied and where they went to school. No Social Sciences, no English, no writing and wacko schools need not apply for my money. Seems like parents are finally doing what I did 20 years ago.

The Missouri situation had the football team saying they wouldn’t play until the university president was fired.

They should have been told to play or they’d lose their scholarships and be kicked off campus.

Instead, the university caved.

Look to see that scenario played out again. Crazies running the asylum.

It is not the protest that is keeping students away. It is the knowledge that the people in charge at the University of Missouri have no spine, and are willing to knuckle under to stupid protests, that drives potential students away. Who wants to invest all that time and effort only to have the Administration shut down the campus and cancel you Senior Year because a group of students wants to protest the unfair treatment of transgender polar bears?

The Times reporter is squirming left and right to paper over the simple, brutal fact that a small, very violent minority has wounded - perhaps fatally - a university. Why really doesn't matter, because the damage is done.

Whether the university can survive the drastic reduction in revenue this will result in is the question, that reduction not only in tuition but in so many state and federal fundings that come in by head count. What will not work is noisy, gooey sympathy for the university's assailants. And that's what they're trying.

Poop Swastika would be a great name for a heavy metal band.

White students who have decided not to go to Missou know that whatever their education goal is, they are going to have to put up with a lot of unwanted crap from the PC crowd. Why bother.

Typical leftist fake news.

The KKk on campus was pure fiction. Total lie from a black student.

The crap swastika was crap. Done by a black student to claim victimhood.

The tent city and “get some muscle” over here was real.

Notice the use of “subconscious racism.” So mentally ill people can now claim to know the subconscious thoughts of others and cry racism.

What was really displayed was a mass hysteria mental illness by leftists and their victim groups. None of it was based on fact. Their feelings, however irrational, now triumph over reason.

That was the real problem at Missouri and is still at college campuses around the country. Missouri could be repeated anywhere, any time. A complicit media. Delusional kids. We will see it again and again.

Is this someone’s name? Or a bacterial infection?

You never know. H.L. Mencken reported that interns and staff in Baltimore's charity hospital maternity units liked to indulge negro patient's proclivity for exotic names by suggesting medical terms for infections, diseases and afterbirth. "Placentia", "Purulent" ,"Necrosis", "Allantois", et cetera.

stupid article. author spins in circles trying to make “racism” the cause of the 35% reduction in enrollment, but never quite manages to get there. The REAL cause, the Melissa Click fiasco, is given a mere passing and cursory treatment.

Fascinating that the story doesn’t call the inciting incident “alleged racial bigotry.”

The kkk incident was a total lie. Made up and that causes the mass hysteria

Remember though. Subconscious racism is enough. Microaggressions. That’s a thought crime, er, hate crime now.
