It really depends on how it was downloaded - what software. The create/modified dates can remain unchanged. Any software I have ever written or used keeps the timestamps intact.

I guess you've never used the linux copy command cp to create new copies of existing files. Its default behavior in such a case would date/time stamp the new files with the current date and time. Why are you commenting on this thread?
