Dallas proclaimed itself the first human rights county in Texas. The commissioners court embraced the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, an initiative that claims to cultivate communities worldwide, although the Geneva-based Human Rights Council (HRC) has come under fire for anti-Israel bias and member countries with poor records. Human rights abuses occur in our community, our country, and our world every day, said Democrat Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, who pushed the resolution to a vote on July 5. We must lead at the local level. We cant do everything but we can all do something.
Democrat commissioners Elba Garcia and Theresa Daniel joined Jenkins to pass the resolution. In doing so, Dallas follows Sonoma County, one of Californias most liberal bastions, where the board of supervisors passed the nations first U.N. human rights county resolution in 2015.

All have the collective effect of what?
Gov. Abbott may have something to say about that.
Just wondering,
how’s that “DNA Free” Iowa thing going.....
Stupid pontificating “Do-Gooders” trying to FEEL relevant.
United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights = Communist
The UN in Texas? Sounds like there are more democrats in leadership there than I thought. Almost moved to Texas, glad I didn’t. I would have been right around that area.
Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
So no more abortions in Dallas?
Walk the malls there in dallas and you’ll see a lot of slave Muslim women walking around in their garbage attire..no assimilation whatsoever!! AND I’m not talking about a few...lots!!
Meaningless globalist tripe. No official weight whatsoever.
Dallas is one of the blue cities/counties Texas. As you might expect, the politicos are all platitudes, mottos and slogans but precious little action to back it up. Pathetic!
snort
Another reason not to go to Dallas.
This is the end result of the far-too-long reign of the lying snake, Rick Perry, and unfettered immigration from places like California. Abbot’s doing a good job of pushing classic Texas values, but needs to do far more or Texas will be lost.
Houston?
I like Abbott more than Trump honestly. Too bad he didn’t/hasn’t run for President.
Dumb asses should read the U.S. Constitution sometime.
Throughout my life every LIB I have had the misfortune to know was a lunatic. Nothing has changed.
I used to live south of Fort Worth and worked in Fort Worth.
Occasionally I had to go to Dallas, hated every minute of it.
Was always glad at end of the day to return to where the West began.
Agree. Good post.
Harris County (Houston) Blue . . . as are San Antonio (Bexar “bear” County), Austin (Travis County) and a few others. In short all of the most populated in the state.
Sad indeed!
