Delingpole: #CNNBlackmail Is the Best Thing Since Trump Got Elected
breitbart ^ | JAMES DELINGPOLE

#CNNBlackmail is the best thing to have happened to the world since the election of Donald Trump. Indeed, it may be one of the greatest moments in the history of the internet. Sure, on one level it resulted in weapons-grade trolling and a few deliciously funny memes; but in bigger picture terms it was something much more significant than that – a pivotal moment in the Culture Wars akin to the Persian defeat at Salamis or the German defeat at Stalingrad or the French defeat at Trafalgar.

Or maybe a better analogy would be the one I used on Sirius XM: the moment during the Second World War when, under the command of the brilliant Bill Slim, the ill-equipped, neglected British Fourteenth Army realized that the only way to beat the Japanese was to fight with the same aggression, cunning, and mobility of the Japanese. In other words, to use the enemy’s tactics against them.

Just like CNN, just like Antifa, just like the left generally, the Japanese were a horrible enemy to fight: utterly without scruples, fanatically convinced of the justice of their wicked cause, terrifying in the swiftness with which they swarmed and overran your position. By the time you knew what had hit you, you’d either be dead — if you were lucky — or tied, wounded, to a tree while the enemy got ready to use you for bayonet practice.

I see it as David v Goliath. A David v Goliath video would make a nice meme.

CNN’s cable subscription fees are as much or more than their advertising revenue. They are always in the basic bundle.

Not watching is not enough. If you want to bring them down with the rest of the Left Media Cartel, you have to cut your cable and tell the cable company you will be back when they offer a la carte programming.

The reality is even if you do not turn on your tv, if you send a check to the cable company, they get paid.

They should ban CNN and NBC from every White House function from press conferences to signing ceremonies and let them sulk on their own. Then what you suggest would be more effective.

The only way to "not" give CNN a check is to demand a cable Internet account only, not bundled with TV in any way. Comcast offers this, it costs $10 more than bundling Cable Internet & TV together though, so you're paying more of your money to Comcast and supposedly not paying CNN a dime.

I don't know how Comcast gets away with charging $10 more for cable internet alone and not bundling with something else, but they do.

Delingpole’s point was that conservatives have ignored the left’s march hoping truth, being conservative, will win out. It hasn’t won out. It is time to use their own tactics. CNN, in frustration, will make more stupid moves and win more stupid prizes.

I wish more people understood your post. Bitching about the media is just chin music if you send the cable company a check every month.

Mr. President, no more Tweets about them...

I disagree.

Point: President Duda of Poland, after the abysmal rudeness of CNN at his press conference with Pres. Trump - TWEETED to CNN, calling them out as FAKE NEWS! Even SAYING "LET'S FIGHT FAKE NEWS!"

This s priceless.

What can CNN do? They wouldn't dare call the president of Poland crazy or incompetent or needing to be impeached because he was tweeting against them.

If more world leaders join in, make it a game, that would pound the final nail - get it?

Disagree. Bush let the media destroy his Presidency.

Trump is not going to let that happen. And Deplorables enjoy seeing the President fight and defeat them. It’s morale for the troops.

And it’s not as if Trump is abusing the tweeting. He’s is simply responding to flagrant inaccuracies and biased in a press corps that’s supposed to be fair.

I called my cable provider and asked them what package they could sell me that did not include CNN. They didn’t have any so I told them to cancel TV and just sell me internet. When they asked why, I told them I wasn’t going to pay for CNN’s hateful, leftist propaganda and I wasn’t going to support any corporation that threatened people for expressing free speech and that CNN was not going to be the thought police in my house. I am saving $1000 by not having CNN.

Our POTUS, should stop acknowledging their very existence....

I know.

Trump is doing something very foolish by responding.

He needs to follow in the proven footsteps of GWB and simply ignore CNN.

It doesn't matter, CNN is doomed. Cable news is for old people. Young people watch YouTube.

My situation, exactly.

I cut the cable a couple of years ago, but they came back with a DISCOUNT for accepting no contract, no equipment fee, no questions asked, basic cable.

How do you say no to that?

You can guarantee more people under 30 know who Ana Kasparian and Gavin McInnes are than Chris Matthews and Sean Hannity.

I figured that one out several years after the impeachment wars. 😀
