De Blasio blasted by police over Germany protest junket
Fox News. com ^ | July 7, 2017 | Ed Mullins

On Thursday, July 5, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, with no advance notice to the public he serves, jetted off to Hamburg, Germany, to attend the G-20 Summit, where heads of state and leaders or representatives from worldwide organizations and entities meet to discuss global imperatives. The mayor is not there to participate in the open dialogue between more than 20 participating countries and scores of international organizations and invited guests. He is to be the keynote speaker for an event called Hamburg Shows Attitude, which is described as a protest really for “democracy and human rights.” He will also squeeze in a visit with his son Dante, a Yale University student doing a summer internship in Berlin.

The mayor’s timing for this trip is inexplicable and shows a complete lack of regard for anyone but himself and the advancement of his progressive ideals. Less than 24 hours earlier, a uniformed NYPD police officer, Miosotis Familia, was brutally assassinated by Alexander Bonds, an ex-convict who was under parole supervision and had been released from a Bronx psychiatric facility just days before committing the murder. Officer Familia, a former Red Cross worker, was a 12-year police veteran, devoted single mother to three children, and the primary caretaker for her own ailing octogenarian mother who was recuperating from cancer surgery.

In yet another act of hubris and hypocrisy, the mayor ignored the swearing-in ceremony of 524 NYPD recruits, even though PO Familia’s murder was still such a fresh wound on the city’s collective psyche. If ever the young, eager, enthusiastic and idealistic recruits, who hailed from every corner of the globe, needed words of reassurance or affirmation from their leader, it was then.

Perhaps they were really just turning their backs on his black nationalist wife who inappropriately wore denim blue jeans to a police officer’s funeral once. /s

Imagine if there was a Tea Party protest that ended up with dozens of cops getting injured AND a high profile Republican was there to show his support?

FROM WIKIPEDIA:

De Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm Jr., in the borough of Manhattan. He is the third son of Maria (née de Blasio) and Warren Wilhelm.[1][11] His father was of German ancestry, and his maternal grandparents were Italian immigrants:[12][13] his grandfather, Giovanni, was from the city of Sant'Agata de' Goti, Benevento, and his grandmother, Anna (née Briganti), was from Grassano, Matera.[14] De Blasio was raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[15] His mother graduated from Smith College in 1938. She served in the Office of War Information during World War II and was the author of the book, The Other Italy: The Italian Resistance in World War II.[16] His father graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University. His mother was 44 years old when he was born, and he has two older brothers, Steven and Donald.[11] His paternal grandfather, author Donald Wilhelm, graduated from Harvard University.[11] He was baptized as a Roman Catholic, but was never confirmed. When asked about his views on religion at a campaign rally in the Bronx in November 2013, De Blasio described himself as "spiritual, but unaffiliated."[17] He speaks Italian.[11]

He uses his mothers maiden name to garner more votes from the Italian community.

Looks like it's working for him to some degree

“DeBlasio has been (appropriately) dissed at some NYPD Funerals by guys turning their back toward him.”

Judge Jeanine encouraged all officers to turn their backs on DeBlasio again if he has the gall to show up at this officer’s funeral. My bet is that he doesn’t even bother to go.

Bill De Blasio would continue that tradition. .......................... My mom has voted straight Democrat from when I last saw her in 1984, in Chuck Schumer’s former district. She is now 117 yrs old. She’ll vote democrat again, and again and again until someone actually finds her residing in Farmingdale. By then she may be about 200 yrs old.
