“South Park” creator Trey Parker says his subversive show won’t feature too many Trump-themed gags in its upcoming season, a deliberate effort to avoid becoming a cable news show disguised as an animated comedy.
Parker told the Los Angeles Times that he never intended “South Park,” now entering its 20th year, to be a show that obsesses over every political controversy of the moment, which today usually involves the president’s latest tweet.
“We did start to become that, though, especially the last season,” he said. “We fell into the same trap that “Saturday Night Live” fell into, where it was like, ‘Dude, we’re just becoming CNN now.’ We’re becoming, ‘Tune in to see what we’re going to say about Trump.’ Matt [co-creator Matt Stone] and I hated it but we got stuck in it somehow.”

My half brother grew up with these guys. They’re libertarians.
Such a shame. I would think that Trump would understand.
They really took a DIG at CNN...essentially calling CNN an entertainment network with nothing more than a hate-filled OBSESSION with Trump.

So what this means is only half the ten episodes will be hardcore trump bashing.
Last season sucked the worst. This one topic for the entire season thing just does not work well for them.

Their best stuff was long ago, manbearpig is over 10 years ago. They were more able to rag on the hypocrisy of the left but their current thing of stringing all episodes on a central theme really is awful.
And btw i am watching sp while i reply, on streaming internet, the good episodes from years ago.
The meme offensive is working.
The one or two times they did, it was either portraying him positively, or the few negative times it was a character of a duck as president. Mooch was always portrayed positively.
