Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pushes for a limited measure if the GOP's Obamacare repeal fails.

McConnell argued that a smaller bill would have to focus on helping private insurance markets.

More gobble gook...McConnell and Ryan need to push for the demise of the entire Obamacare, Affordable Act....this awful mess of legalese and repetition called Affordable Act aka OC....cannot be fixed. Maybe just fire Ryan and McConnell would be a good start....

Ted Cruz had a simple suggestion. Of course, the narcisstic prima donnas of the US Senate won't pay attention 'cause they can't stand anyone who has a brain and is solution oriented. (JMHO)

His solution. Insurance companies would be allowed whatever policies they wanted, according to supply and demand. But they'd also have to offer Obama Care policies. What could be simpler and more logical?

1. Repeal Obamacare
2. Provide safety net for poor
3. allow insurance companies access to all state markets
4. provide nothing more

[smaller bill would have to focus on helping private insurance markets]

LEGISLATORS should be required to recuse themselves from the healthcare bill if they are monetarily invested in insurance companies or receive substantial donations from them. It is a conflict of interest.

Mcconnel ,Ryan etc. are owned by Soros.

Just repeal Obamacare.

No replacement.

Ownership, no government regulations, no government involvement , competition and the free market are what lowers prices and creates quality. That's actually called capitalism.

Other than Cruz and Paul, none of these senators discuss the details of a bill or the effects on anything. The others all discuss it like the media - “oh no, we’re not going to deny anyone their health insurance!”

“McConnell argued that a smaller bill would have to focus on helping private insurance markets.”

This whole figgin mess has always been for the health of the profit margins for the insurance companies instead of the health of the American people and the proliferation of graft being laundered through it to the fargin politicians.

Trump can now just sit back and watch the whole thing implode and reap the benefits come the mid-term primaries. Veto anything that comes out from McConnell, Ryan, NRSC and especially the NRCC. Burn the house down around them and their graft.

Scariest words ever: "We're from the government and we're here to help."

GET DC OUT of the insurance business.

If they still have to offer ObamaCare policies at a loss, then they will go bust. If they are allowed to raise the price of ObamaCare policies to what they actually cost to deliver, then nobody will buy them.

If you want your ObamaCare, you can keep your ObamaCare. If you want traditional private insurance, you can buy that too. Freedom of choice... and no room for the Whining Dependent Class to complain and obstruct.

Since Sen. “We’re Going to Repeal ObamaCare Root and Branch” McConnell and the big majority of the other Republican senators do not want to repeal it, but are probably being pushed by their lobbyist handlers to do something because ObummerCare is swirling down the toilet, the best possible outcome would be for conservatives in the House and Senate to block any bill that would help prop up ObummerCare. Instead, since the Republican Senate does not want to get rid of it, let this socialist monster die on its own without prolonging its demise with tax dollars. The prospects that the free market will then take over will be a wake up call for the Republican Senators and their lobbyist buddies.

You got it. Welfare to insurance companies is the problem, not the solution.
