But when Trump comes up to the same table to see Putin, the how-do-you-do is more congenial the stuff of fishing buddies or bowling teammates. You mean like this?
No. Guess not. That's more like the way drug-dealing gangstas shake hands.

When Putin greets UK Prime Minister Theresa May, for instance, the handshake is formal, curt and respectful with the leaders bowing to each other slightly.
But when Trump comes up to the same table to see Putin, the how-do-you-do is more congenial the stuff of fishing buddies or bowling teammates.
Translation: Putin sees Trump as a true peer.

Handshake analysis seems to be the new journo-fad.
I’m guessing it’s just another of the writers’ drug-related paranoid obsessions.

Interesting handshake that could have some interpretations... Putin is reaching out to Trump, who is not extending his right arm. Makes, to me, Trump look like the alpha here.
Of course, sometimes a handshake is just a handshake..

I find microanalyses of handshakes and body language inane, not much different or better than examining bumps on the skull.

This is the meeting Deep State has done everything they could to scuttle from day one.

Exactly. Trump needs to start developing a relationship with Russia and this is a good start

The lefties are wetting their pants no doubt. I don’t have CNN on here at work, but I’m sure they’ll have a “body language” expert on to give his analysis on what the handshake meant. No doubt he will say it was a handshake between two men who know each other well, and they’ll run with that all day long. Bet on it

Russians, including Vladimir Putin, are known for their expansive greetings, hugging and kissing on each cheek. In a display devoid of friendliness, like German Angela Merkel, Putin simply shook hands wit Trump.
Merkel signaled first her displeasure with Trump, as noted by many in the media, by not hugging him and merely shaking his hand. Following her lead, Putin underscored his displeasure by proffering a simple handshake.

I find body language analysis interesting, but do not see how one can generalize much from the 1-2 seconds of content presented by a handshake. Sometimes you can.

I noticed that most of these international “leaders” are wearing some type of pin that looks like a submarine, but is probabably some friendship wreath or other world peace useless symbol. Not our President. Simple American flag pin. I love our President. Such a great representative for this nation.

If you have a false narrative to support, handshake analysis can be a lot of fun and quite creative.
