What a great speech! After it was over, I checked out (briefly) commentary on CNN and MSNBC. All panelists looked glum, due probably because the speech was so terrific. Fox and Friends was praising the speech, even had Eric Trump as a guest.

Too funny. As if there is anything that Trump could have said, other than announcing that he is stepping down from the Presidency, that they wouldn’t have found ‘disappointing’.
I guess when Obama said things like ‘we are who we’ve been waiting for’, and ‘generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth’ etc. those weren’t meaningless platitudes..
Morning Schmoe was probably disappointed that he couldn’t find something to take out of context and ride for a few news cycles as a “gaffe”.
It was a perfectly uplifting speech, and one which was loudly cheered by the Polish crowds.

I read somewhere on the internet today, probably Twitter, that Trump actually didn’t say this, it was just a fake news report, probably from CNN.

The alternative was to speak the truth, and admit that the last thing he wants is God. But that would be truth. A man in the middle of two marital break-ups, who is enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season, wants nothing so little as he wants God.
