The Most Abused President in History
American Thinker.com ^ | July 3, 2017 | Jeffre Folks

Posted on 07/03/2017 4:55:20 AM PDT by Kaslin

There's no doubt that President Trump is the most abused president in modern history – more so than George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Richard Nixon, all of whom caught their share of flak. That's the judgment of Fox News's Brit Hume, who sees today's partisanship as "the most intensely hostile political atmosphere" in memory – in his case, a memory stretching back almost 50 years. Hume believes that the treatment of President Trump is "the most biased coverage" he's ever seen.

The bias continues in spite of the brief détente following the shooting of Steve Scalise and other GOP lawmakers and associates this month. Ava Navarro's labeling of the president as a "crazy lunatic, 70-year-old man-baby" is yet another uncivil attack from the left – in this case, one that appears to combine unwarranted abuse with blatant age bias. Would the left have questioned Hillary's abilities, or those of Bernie Sanders, on the basis of age?

I wonder how Trump can stand it. The president must be incredibly thick-skinned or possessed of a truly magnanimous soul. Although he often defends himself by striking back, it's hardly proportional. For every Trump tweet, there are thousands of attacks from the liberal media.

It's clear that the left is grasping at straws and has now descended into name-calling, the lowest form of rhetoric. If the attacks were based on substance, they might be taken seriously. But "crazy lunatic"? That is the stuff of an affronted seven-year-old, not of an educated adult.

Now that Russiagate has unraveled and "collusion" has gained little traction, what's next? More name-calling, accompanied by an endless string of groundless charges, all of them the purported basis for impeachment – everything from continuing refusal to release his tax returns to receiving "foreign emoluments."

Those in the press who think that Trump is crazy or stupid are, themselves, too dumb to distinguish the show from the substance. (Anyone remember Casey Stengel?). One of the reasons that they don’t make that distinction is that, in their own case, there is none. They are all show and no substance.

I don’t wonder how Trump can stand it.

He had to make his living in the private sector, where people who succeed develop a thick skin, learn to play by whatever rules are being used in whatever sector, and dish it out as well as take it.

Hell, Trump probably enjoys it. You don’t lose billions and make billions by being a wilting violet!

POTUS DJT is one in a million. Fighting the left requires unconventional methods. The left are like are a cult. They remind me of Scientologist. There is no nice way to resist/defeat the left. Thank God for POTUS DJT and his unconventional tactics. I wonder how GWB would handle such assaults. Oh thats right...the high ground.

The Media abuses the American People as well as President Trump. The President fights and we, the American people, stand with him. Together this makes us both stronger.

The Media is our greatest enemy.

The European Reformation has been attributed to the result of the development of the printing press and its decentralization of authoritarian control of information. We are now seeing the result of the development of the Internet and the collapse of the ability of corporate gatekeepers of propaganda to monopolize the dissemination of information.

In the article, the author discusses how Nate Silver (liberal pundit) talks casually about how eight presidents have died in office, obviously hoping for the same with Trump.

There were many conservatives who wanted him out of office equally as vehemently, but...were not willing to see him killed or injured in the process, thus martyring him, and causing streets, schools, buildings, and ships to be named after him. The thought of having to see scads of those things every single day was nauseating to even consider.

Of course, my retort was that all that stuff was going to happen anyway, liberal politics being what it is. Even as dismal a President as Jimmy Carter got a submarine named after him.

I think you are right.

Trump enjoys the rough and tumble—that it the way it is in the business world he operated in for 40 years.

The truth is, DC is populated by ego driven, self important mental midgets.

Trump relishes the combat with these political Lilliputians.

Projection comes to mind. This is what the left is using and they hope it sticks. I got news for them It will bounce back like a boomerang.

Trump is by nature a disruptor, so, yes, he is loving it.

When you attack the entire U.S. government establishment, you can expect return fire and plenty of it.

You will be hated by all men for my sake.

Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

Trump is an adult and grounded in reality - makes it easy to have fun while smacking them back.

I bet he enjoys their constant barrage and expectations that they can get away with it w/o repercussions, then have to cry, "MOMMY! Make the mean man stop!"

Now that Russia gate has unraveled and "collusion" has gained little traction

This is part of the problem, "our" side in the media can't call BS on "Russian Collusion" and call it what it truly is, a partisan witch hunt. This loser uses passive speech when he should be shooting lightning bolts.

In my opinion, it exposes them for the bullies they are, simply by watching their unhinged emotional reactions.

They have been used to it, for decades, of saying the most demeaning, patently false, and scurrilous statements (particularly about conservatives) in the media, and never, EVER taking return fire for it.

Of all the things I disagreed with George W. Bush on, it was his propensity to be a passive punching bag for those scum in the media.

I love that Trump fights back, and deliberately pokes them in the eye, and punches them in the nose.

And like the bullies they have been, their eyes widen in amazement, tears flow from their eyes, and they burst out crying.

I love it.
