Arizona -(Ammoland.com)- In a recent article in The Guardian, it was reported that police chiefs in England and Wales are considering offering the possibility of being armed with a handgun to all frontline officers.
Police chiefs will consider the possibility of offering a gun to every frontline police officer in England and Wales, to counter the threat of a marauding terrorist attack, the Guardian has learned.
A discussion paper on the subject has been drawn up for the next meeting of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), which wants to look at how to boost armed police numbers to deal with a crisis, following the atrocities in Manchester and London.
The paper is intended to start a debate on the issue among police leaders at the two-day meeting that starts on 12 July – although it is thought at this stage unlikely that any wider arming will be agreed upon. Routine arming is controversial within policing and many do not support it.
The chart in the Guardian gives us some numbers from the UK government. These are numbers that I have not seen elsewhere.
They tell us how many authorized firearms officers there are in England and Wales. Government sources were relied on for the total number of frontline officers. The total number of frontline officers has dropped by 11 percent from the high in 2010.
The peak number of operational frontline officers was 125,799 on 31 March, 2010. The number of authorized firearms officers is not as precise. It was measured from the chart. If a reader is able to find the government documents that the Guardian references for authorized firearms

One of the SCARIEST things that I read about the coming civil wars in Western Europe (and there’s plenty of scary things) is that there are very, very, few well-armed soldiers, militia, and police, ready to fight. In fact, once the Muslims reach critical mass and have a few decent weapons, they may well just walk into Buckingham Palace and that will be the end of 1000 years of British freedom.
It could all end that fast. Very scary, and this article certainly doesn’t help, as New York City has more armed cops at Times Square on New Year’s Eve as Britain has in their entire country.
Well... there is NATO, and the organization is supposed to be a mutual defense pact.
The problem is that a takeover would be labeled an “internal struggle”.
They could then climb aboard a Vanguard sub, and goodbye Boston, New York, Baltimore/Washington, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Miami! Islamic takeover of Britain could literally be the end!!!!
Around 1994 I met a British cop at a Summer retreat in the North Carolina Mountains.
He was an interesting fellow and surprisingly to me, pretty conservative. He also was a lay preacher.
One thing he told me was that he was armed but kept it concealed. I am pretty sure he said a Walther PP in 7.62. He did admit that most were not armed.

Britain needs to follow the example of the Czech Republic.
Trump needs to treat Britain as a strategic asset and do what the USA must do for preventive self-defense.

I have over 30 years policing experience in London. I have commanded firearms operations and respect the skills and commitment of firearms officers. However, I would not wish to carry a firearm myself, for a combination of moral and practical reasons. In terms of the question posed, I would resign rather than being forced to choose any particular firearm.
But even more interesting was this:

Pathetic Brits.
That attitude makes it easy for the muslims to kill them.
