If such an exchange happened, it sounds to me more like advice than threat. Like, "You know, if you would apologize to Trump, you would remove any basis for the story and National Enquirer would have nothing to publish."
Brzezinski, however, claimed that the National Enquirer was aggressive in pressuring them.
"These calls persisted for quite some time," she said Friday on "Morning Joe." "They were threatening. They were calling my children."
UPDATE 6/30/2017 8:05pm: A previous version of this story erroneously stated that Brzezinski claimed the White House, not the Enquire, had made the pressuring calls.
That's quite a large distinction, between the White House calling vs. the National Enquirer calling. Yet the story still tries to leave us with the impression that Trump was trying to blackmail Scarborough.
Whatever, this story just sounds like another hit piece, full of innuendo without having a single concrete fact to support its claims.
Those two pigs dug the hole in which they are now wallowing. They could have kept to policy stories but instead started pushing smutty, personal rumors on the president and his family.
I give their upcoming marriage a few months...if they make it to a judge at all.
The account I read yesterday said that Scarborough called Jared complaining about the story and Jared told him he needed to talk to the President about it. Scarborough said that Trump wouldn’t talk to him, and Jared said ‘well maybe you should apologize to him’.
That sound the most likely, if in fact any conversation did take place at all.
