Were told CNN flew into a panic on Friday after it accidentally aired a fake National Enquirer cover during Jake Tappers broadcast.
The cover which has the headline Heidi Cruz: Betrayed by Cheating Husband! and promised details on a sordid threesome, sleazy love letters and sensational photo proof has never appeared on the National Enquirer, according to sources at the magazine.
Were told the network is taking the matter seriously, and that it has been referred to the networks standards and practices department for review.
The blunder comes just a week after three news staff resigned because CNN had to retract a false story about supposed links between Trump ally Anthony Scaramucci and a Russian investment fund.

I don’t think that the “Fake Time cover” bothered many Americans because many Americans have paid to have such fakes printed of themselves. You can go to photo booths in many tourist shopping areas and have one printed.
Never say never. I've seen plenty of surprising relationships. Usually the ones that stay secret are where both parties have a profession which requires keeping confidences, e.g. lawyers. If you have to keep secrets for living, well, you'd better be good at keeping secrets. The unsuccessful are found out, the successful we never know about....
Remember Henry Kissinger? They say power is an aphrodisiac.
CNN has a “ networks standards and practices department”?
Horsemanure.
One problem I have with Trump’s recent tweet was that it took attention away from the MSM’s implosion.
I'm still waiting to find out why Heidi was arrested for sitting out on the side of the highway crying in the middle of the night.
Fake Tapper just can’t help himself.
