The international chemical weapons watchdog confirmed Friday that sarin gas was used in the deadly April attack on a Syria town that left more than 80 people dead.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons said it deployed a team within 24 hours to collect samples, attend autopsies and interview witnesses. Due to security risks, the team was not able to be on the ground in the Khan Shaykhun area where the attack took place, but traveled to a "neighboring country" to conduct its work.

“How do we know Assad’s army was responsible?”

Watchdog says it. We read it on the internet. Surely that is enough evidence to commit several more decades to protecting rocks, goat turds, and anti-Christians?

“It makes me sad to see the Trump administration either falling for or perpetrating this kind of cynical deep state bullshit.”

Considering his team (Mattis, Tillerson, and McMaster)...I can see why things are drifting back into the neocon rut.

The CinC needs to slap some stars into alignment, or find new ones.

Yeah, that Assad is so misrepresented. He really is a good guy. Why does he get such bad press? I just don't get it.

Story is pure BS. Sarin has a shelf life of five years. If anyone had manufactured any in the last five years, the world would have known.

If any chemicals were used at all (doubtful), it was bathtub gin chemical warfare with retards mixing swimming pool chemicals to make a piddly cholorine gas.

Sources who reported that a sarin weapon was at the airbase. A radar track of the plane from the time it took off til the time that it landed. Witnesses who saw the plane drop the bomb. The name of the pilot of the plane. Other than that, not much.

When it’s in the completed form, yes. The more sophisticated producers keep the chemical precursors separate in binary weapons.

The real impact of the revelation is that t belies other recent statements that the use of chemical weapons had not taken place.

As far as whether or not Assad was responsible, who cares? He has used such weapons before and if he doesn't want them used, he has a lot of power to exert....or see some of his military hardware go up in smoke.

State Dept Press Briefing 6/29/2017

QUESTION: So this recent statement from the White House alleging that the Syrian Government was planning an upcoming chemical attack, are you concerned that that could have created an opening for terrorist groups to carry out a chemical attack?

MS NAUERT: No.

QUESTION: You’re not concerned even though al-Nusrah, al-Qaida groups, have been using chemical weapons in Syria that’s documented?

MS NAUERT: No. Next question on Syria

And they showed none of the clinical signs of sarin poisoning.

How can they conduct an investigation without looking and talking with those at the site of the attack?

"after seeing horrific pictures of the victims of the chemical attack"

ISIS is notorious at falsifying attacks. Assuming it was real attack. Who did it? ISIS would love for the US to get on their side.
