SACRAMENTO, Calif. Californias efforts to strengthen what already are some of the nations strictest gun laws took two blows this week, the latest coming when a federal judge blocked a law set to take effect Saturday that would have barred gun owners from possessing high-capacity ammunition magazines.

"[Judge] Benitez criticized [CA Attorney General] Becerras arguments that magazines often holding 30 or 100 bullets are typically used in mass shootings and arent needed by hunters or civilian owners. Forcing assailants to change magazines more frequently gives victims time to flee or subdue the shooter, Becerra argued in court filings."
Rep. John Bingham, Congressional Globe, House of Representatives, 42nd Congress, 1st Session. (See 2nd Amendment about in middle of 2nd column.)

Since when does someone capable of murdering others in mass shooting give one wet crap about obeying a clip law?
Answer= They DO NOT- they WILL use 100 round clips on us- legal gun owners- who are forced to defend ourselves with inadequate 7 round clips
I note there is no free option whatsoever to view this story.
They will self-censor, in such a scenario.
Not to worry, it is all but a certainty that the 9th Circus will eventually reverse any ruling this district court judge makes in the magazine ban law.
To paraphrase Judge Chamberlain Haller in the movie My Cousin Vinnie, the judge wrote a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out injunction - that will ultimately be overruled.
Had SCOTUS taken up cert in the Peruta case and slapped down the 9th circus, then there might have been a chance that the 9th would have let stand a lower court's dismissal of the magazine ban.
But I fear the 9th is now emboldened to make any anti-Second Amendment ruling it pleases, knowing it will not be reversed by SCOTUS.
I did not know the gunman in Florida had time to watch a video about his malfunctioned rifle during his killing spree
