In fact, such might have been the case with some of the long-necked 'Brontosaur-type' dinosaurs. I heard paleontologist Bob Bakker on one of the dino documentaries say they may have actually benefited by having smaller brains. Because a smaller brain requires less blood, and therefore less blood being pumped up its long neck. And with less pressure it could more easily (and safely) rear up on its hind legs to reach the most succulent leaves of trees without its head blowing off upon standing on all fours again. Some of these dinosaurs had 40-ft necks. For this reason he referred to them as "Darwinian morons".
