How can you expect them to create all this quality fake news with less editors? It’s hard work ensuring it’s not easy to expose their lies.

The cover story that they're going to concentrate on their digital presence is a little thin. How you end up needing fewer editors as a result of going from dead trees to live electrons is a mystery - the content hasn't changed, nor has the editorial flow, both of which are already fully digitized.
Sympathy may be a bit hard to come by. These were, after all, the same arrogant jerks who portrayed the unemployed coal miners as an alien species last election. Karma can be like that.

Gerald Celente has often referred to the NYT as the “toilet paper of record”.
We see now how right he is.

Carlos Slim has decided their propaganda isn’t worth much.... he can afford to subsidize it but doesn’t want to lose money forever.

“Cutting us down to 50 to 55 editors from more than 100, and expecting the same level of quality in the report, is dumbfoundingly unrealistic...” The editor count could be cut to five and the general public wouldn't see a difference in the “quality.”

None of them get it.
The problem isn’t satisfying current readers. The problem is not satisfying all the people that don’t read them because they are biased and not accurate.

They aren’t called the Dinosaur Media for nothing. I’m sure they had big plans for government subsidies if President Cankles had been elected.

Cutting us down to 50 to 55 editors from more than 100, and expecting the same level of quality in the report, is dumbfoundingly unrealistic, Aren't their computer chat bots that can continue to spew the same stories without anyone noticing a difference in quality?
