Former President Barack Obama is joining the demagogic slugfest against the GOPs latest bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare. He claims the GOP bill would ruin Medicaid.
Hes wrong. His health law ruined Medicaid.
Now, half of all women who give birth in the United States are on Medicaid, a staggering figure. The Republican bill, awaiting Senate action, will reform Medicaid, restoring its original mission and ensuring its future.
Medicaid was created in 1965 as a safety net for the poor. But ObamaCare distorted it, edging the US health-care system closer to a Medicaid-for-all or single-payer system. Swelling the Medicaid rolls instead of making private insurance affordable was the main trick ObamaCare used to boost the number of insured.
A whopping 75 million people are now enrolled on Medicaid, 20 million more than in Medicare, the program for the elderly. If the repeal bill doesnt pass, Medicaid enrollment will soar to 86 million by 2026, according to a Congressional Budget Office analysis released Monday.
Whos picking up the tab for this vast Medicaid expansion? You. Worse, you pay twice once as a taxpayer, then again as an insurance consumer.

How can Medicaid be ruined. It’s a wreck as it is. I believe that there was a study that showed that uninsured patients had better outcomes than Medicaid patients.
Medicaid patients do get all those crappy drugs such as anti- cholesterol drugs, anti depressants, vaccines that are on balance harmful. They also receive opiate prescriptions which can provide an additional source of income on the re-sale market.
Health care is in most cases not the same as medical care (especially when we are talking about chronic conditions). Staying healthy is an individual responsibility and those on Medicaid wouldn’t generally fall into that category.
“Staying healthy is an individual responsibility -———”
It is PARTIALLY an individual responsibility, the rest of it is genetic and just plain good luck.
.
And why is it NOW deemed a disaster? Why not WHEN BO’B was making this disaster? If, indeed, it was noted by this same news source at that time, I stand corrected.
BTTT
What? Huh, we’re talking about Medicaid, this is not relevant? No BTTT (back to the thread BS crap) This is a part of the discussion.
Medicaid is garbage and we’re wasting billions. Medicaid patients don’t get good care and they are worse off than uninsured. There are a lot of pharma companies that derive profits on these people, so the rinos want to protect it.
“No BTTT (back to the thread BS crap)”
Huh ?????????????????
.
So, you are the boss of me and can tell me not to make a bookmark or notation?
Maybe Medicaid gave you the wrong meds....
If the repeal bill doesnt pass, Medicaid enrollment will soar to 86 million by 2026,
Seems the pols and talking heads are concerned with medicaid—not with how healthcare insurance would look to those actually paying.
Sorry, I got the wrong impression.
Sometimes these acronyms can be a little ambiguous in how they are used, but my bad, no offense intended.
I should have put the sarcasm tag on my response.
We’ve been here a long time, I didn’t think it necessary.
Have a great 4th of July and MAGA!
I just know by summers end we may have another bite at SCOTUS and Trump will go Pall Mall on his agenda in September.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see 50 Fed Judges nominated.
The rest will happen in due time...
