I have a Bosch washer, dishwasher and dryer. Would not consider anything but a Bosch for “water works”—

I think mine was $2800 in 2012. I think I did get it on sale from there, but the final price was definitely over $2K.

The plastic shelves broke under regular use, bottom ice maker broke, top ice maker needs to be defrosted every couple months, freezer door handle came off in my hand...all of that was annoying but livable. Then, the track for the freezer door started losing ball bearings and now, it’s difficult to open and close, because it’s not on the track properly. I’m told it cannot be fixed, because they no longer make the part necessary to fix it.

So, maybe I can buy a used same model inferior POS refrigerator for parts. Or maybe I can drag the sucker out back and put bullets in it until I feel better.

THIS is what we need to see - opening a manufacturing plant, not just offices for upper management and accounting.

It’s immensely important to build things here. Thank God we have a Chief Executive who understands this.

Why can’t GE and other USA appliance makers stay in the USA and make a profit?

They had set up shop in places like Louisville, KY and Benton Harbor, MI where the unions were bleeding them dry.

Then there's GE and the opposite diagnosis....Their appliances are excellent...but their electronics stink.

The GE appliances that came in the house I purchased new five years ago have been nothing but trouble. Already replaced my microwave, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. GE fridge won't dispense water anymore. I'll never buy GE again.

I guess I have to revise that and say their older appliances were great,

I loved my Samsung washer and dryer. The washer was so quiet, I wasn’t sure if it was even running!

A couple of years ago, I rented a home in Florida for a year and all of the appliances were new.

There was also a Samsung refrigerator with the French doors and the custom controlled drawers; awesome!

They had a GE stove and GE microwave/convection oven. Absolutely awful. The oven was terrible- especially for baking- and the microwave/convection oven was so difficult to use that we just bought a cheap microwave at WalMart.

I have all Samsung electronics- started with my cell phone years ago- and have no complaints.

Don’t know about GE, but I’ve had to replace the ice controller on my fridge because the paddle broke off. Now it will only give crushed ice. Two shelves on the fridge are broken and the freezer ices up. The control panel on my stove has 2 LEDs burned out and the 5 has stopped working.

I paid premium prices for these appliances, over $3000 and $2000 respectively. You would think they would be better built. Stay away from any Samsung appliances.
