Shakespeare is not the problem, but he shouldn’t be taught in the schools. If he’s good enough, people will find him without being assigned (forced) to read him. I find that to be a ridiculous statement. Not teach the greatest poet/dramatist in the English language? Should they just teach comic books and Maya Angelou instead?
