Soldiers. Unarmed at an arsenal.
We live in a stupid country...
Yep, another gun free zone
Redstone Arsenal has more than 40,000 employees spread out over a sprawling 30,000 acre facility. The vast majority of people on the arsenal are civilians with less than 1,500 uniformed personnel.
Not any more! Thanks to Trump there have been changes!

“Run, hide, fight!”
Possible active shooter on the Arsenal. Installation is locked down.
“Run hide fight!”
Local media reporting that nothing has changed after 2+ hours here (I’m about 2-3 miles away from the Aresenal).
“Update: Situation at RSA remains unchanged. MSFC/RSA in lockdown status. Personnel shelter in place/gates closed until further notice.”
NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (the MSFC noted above) is also on the base... it’s been a rocket engine testing facility at times as well.
During the campaign, Trump promised to reverse the idiotic “no guns on military bases” policy. Maybe this will prompt him to honor that promise.
Major Abdul?
"WAAY 31 Verified account @WAAYTV 2m Limestone County authorities respond to report of suspicious person near Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant http://bit.ly/2th5yNf"
Limestone County is my home county - this would be 25 miles WNW of the Arsenal. BFNP is the oldest operating nuclear power plant in the country.
Busy day here in Alabama's Tennessee River valley.
Update:
“NOW: Vehicles are exiting [Redstone Arsenal] Gate 1, police line still blocking people from entering @waff”
“Chris Colster with Redstone Arsenal: “nobody’s been evacuated so that seems like a good indication that nobody’s been hurt.”” - source is a reporter for WAFF Channel 48
“REPORT from the building: 3 people heard something that sounded like a shot, no shooter found or shots fired.” (source: local talk radio host Dale Jackson, WVNN).
...and apparently no one was hurt, either, so it sounds like this is all winding down now.
Redstone Gate 7 has re-opened to inbound and outbound traffic.
Major Abdul?
