You may want to equate them differently, but statutory rape is still an abuse of a minor.
We we play this stupid ass game of “the 17 year old liked it”. We could say the same thing for a 12 year old, if it were true. That test fails.
If a consenting 17 year old boy and a consenting 17 year old girl have sex, who gets charged with statutory rape????
