CrowdStrike: Five Things Everyone Is Ignoring About The Russia-DNC Story
dailycaller.com ^ | 6/24/17 | Justin Caruso

The Democratic Party and mainstream media have become increasingly consumed with the narrative that Donald Trump’s election win is largely influenced by Russian hacking.

The narrative is centered around two hacks–the hack of a DNC server that led to the release of embarrassing emails during the Democratic National Convention, and the hack of John Podesta’s email which led to several embarrassing moments for the Clinton campaign in October 2016. Both are supposedly the result of the Russians.

The Russia story is back in the headlines once again after reports surrounding former President Barack Obama’s attempts to “punish” Russia for its interference.

However, there is still a cloud of doubt hanging over the DNC’s Russia narrative on the breach of the DNC servers.

The analysis that alleged that Russia was behind the DNC server breach was carried out not by the U.S. government, but by the private security group CrowdStrike.

CrowdStrike is the sole source of this claim, with their June 2016 report, “Bears in the Midst: Intrusion into the Democratic National Committee” being the basis of the DNC’s Russian hacking allegations.

Here are five key points about CrowdStrike that the mainstream media is ignoring:

I prayed so hard and the day DJT announced his candidacy it was if a door had been unlocked. At that moment said more prayers and felt that the entire landscape had changed for the better. After a few months in office, some have learned not only to accept Romney's loss and feel grateful, but have seen the reason for that loss.

Just the high points, ever link contains additional info...

Alperovitch is a founder of CrowdStrike

$100M of funding for CrowdStrike is from Warburg Pincus.

$56M from Accel

$100M from Google

Timothy Geithner is President of Warburg Pincus
http://www.warburgpincus.com/people/industry/executive-management/

Geithner was Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs under Bill Clinton.

At the Wikipedia page for Geithner is a photo of Geithner and SoS Hillary Clinton. They co-chaired the U.S.–China Strategic and Economic Dialogue meeting in Washington in 2009 and in Beijing in 2010.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_Geithner
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S.-China_Strategic_and_Economic_Dialogue

There are seven members of CrowdStrike Board of Directors, two of whom are also Board members at Warburg Pincus: Cary Davis and Joseph Landy.
https://www.crowdstrike.com/board-of-directors/

CrowdStrike is heavily funded by Warburg Pincus and 30% of it’s Board members are from Warburg Pincus, a company lead by Clinton associate Timothy Geithner. And CrowdStrike just so happens to be the promoter of the Russia-hacked-the-DNC narrative.

Since Alperovitch’s financiers and directors are associated with Clinton his disinterest might reasonably be questioned.

(Jun 14, 2016) DNC chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.) said, “When we discovered the intrusion, we treated this like the serious incident it is and reached out to CrowdStrike immediately.” - https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/russian-government-hackers-penetrated-dnc-stole-opposition-research-on-trump/2016/06/14/cf006cb4-316e-11e6-8ff7-7b6c1998b7a0_story.html

Why CrowdStrike?

From the same article: CrowdStrike is not sure how the hackers got in. The firm suspects they may have targeted DNC employees with “spearphishing” emails. These are communications that appear legitimate — often made to look like they came from a colleague or someone trusted — but that contain links or attachments that when clicked on deploy malicious software that enables a hacker to gain access to a computer. “But we don’t have hard evidence,” Alperovitch said.

Crowdstrike/Alperovitch bases his claim partly on the claims of a Russian blogger. The blogger claims that Ukrainian military units were targeted via malware inserted onto Ukrainian tablet computers, the malware provided to Russia the location of Ukrainian troops. As “evidence” the blogger cites a 2016 International Institute for Strategic Studies report of a sharp reduction of Ukrainian D-30 howitzers between 2013 and 2015. Ukraine denies any large loss of D-30 howitzers. Alperovitch claims this same malware was used to breach the DNC email system. The malware has been available for years prior to the DNC breach. http://www.voanews.com/a/skeptics-doubt-ukraine-hack-link-to-dnc-cyberattack/3649234.html URL for the blog post mentioned in the VOA article http://thesaker.is/ukrainian-army-losses-in-ato-anti-terrorist-operation-according-to-the-iisss-military-balance/

In Crowdstrike’s report Alperovitch refers to APT 28 and APT 29 as “Fancy Bear” and “Cozy Bear”. Why does Alperovtich refer to APT 28 and APT 29 as “Fancy Bear” and “Cozy Bear”? Why use these colorful names rather than the accepted technical names? (APT stands for Advanced Persistent Threat). Is he selling an idea, supporting a narrative?

Alperovitch told the PBS NewsHour: “And when you think about, well, who would be interested in targeting Ukraine artillerymen in eastern Ukraine? Who has interest in hacking the Democratic Party? [The] Russia government comes to mind” - http://www.voanews.com/a/crowdstrike-comey-russia-hack-dnc-clinton-trump/3776067.html

Why does Alperovitch think Russia has an interest in hacking the Democrat Party?

What are Alperovitch’s biases?

Think Tank: Cyber Firm at Center of Russian Hacking Charges Misread Data - One of the IISS researchers who produced the data said that while the think tank had dramatically lowered its estimates of Ukrainian artillery assets and howitzers in 2013, it did so as part of a “reassessment” and reallocation of units to airborne forces. “No, we have never attributed this reduction to combat losses,” the IISS researcher said, explaining that most of the reallocation occurred prior to the two-year period that CrowdStrike cites in its report. “The vast majority of the reduction actually occurs ... before Crimea/Donbass,” he added, referring to the 2014 Russian invasion of Ukraine. - http://www.voanews.com/a/crowdstrike-comey-russia-hack-dnc-clinton-trump/3776067.html

CrowdStrike Rewrites Part of Disputed Russian Hacking Report - CrowdStrike has revised and retracted statements it used to buttress claims of Russian hacking http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3539028/posts?page=1 http://www.voanews.com/a/cyber-firm-rewrites-part-disputed-russian-hacking-report/3781411.html

7/13/2015 - CrowdStrike landed a $100 million Series C investment round. The round was led by Google Capital with Rackspace, which happens to be one of the company’s customers also investing. Existing investors Accel and Warburg Pincus also participated. Today’s investment brings the total to-date to $156 million. The company was launched by former executives from McAfee in 2011. Its most recent funding was a $30 million round in September, 2013.

9/8/2013 - CrowdStrike has raised $30 million in a Series B round led by Accel Venture Partners. Founding investor Warbug Pincus also participated in the funding. The company was founded by former McAffee CTO George Kurtz and Dmitri Alperovitch, who was previously vice president of advanced threat research, also at McAfee.

8/21/2013 - Patrick Severson has quietly stepped down as a managing director with private equity firm Warburg Pincus, Fortune has learned.

Severson originally joined Warburg Pincus in 2001 to focus on software and healthcare technology investments. Deals included Nuance Communications (nuan), CrowdStrike, iParadigms, Spigot and Telcordia.

http://fortune.com/2013/08/21/exclusive-tech-investor-leaves-warburg-pincus/

Crowdstrike/Alperovitch is closely associated with and heavily funded by Clinton colleague Timothy Geithner.

The DNC refused to allow the gov to investigate. The gov relied on Crowdstrike/Alperovitch claims that Russia hacked the DNC email system.

I don’t understand how DNC and Russians would or why they would deny HRC. Can you explain? It seems they would want her to be easy peasy as she had been.

If Putin is a globalist (meaning free trade with all regardless of trade deficits and free flow of people with no borders) why I can not find anything made in Russia in Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Sears, Macy’s, Walgreen, Kohl’s, etc etc?

All Putin is after is to restore the former and now defunct USSR. He can achieve that by weakening USA by forcing us to bleed resources in Syria, Iraq & ME with borrowed money from Asians.

None of the US middle class jobs in manufacturing have been gobbled up by Russia. Heck, Russia does not even buy US debt (Treasury bonds).

I truly think ( and hope and pray) it is a replay of Haman and Mordecai!

The trap set for Mordecai ( by Haman, the bad guy) was sprung for Haman instead.....and Haman is hoisted by his own petard!

Truly Biblical!
Justice!

Putin IS a globalist.

Doubtless, Putin would gladly accept the title of Emperor of the Globe, even as he reigns supreme as Czar of all the Russias.

But that is the only sense in which he is a globalist.

No Evidence you say ?

The Democratic National Committee REFUSED to allow their computers and servers to be searched for evidence.
WHY ?
I propose that
Consider the following information about the SO CALLED Russian Hacking.
I believe it was the Democratic National Committee who was DOING the hacking and leaving FALSE TRACES of the Russians.
We MUST INVESTIGATE the Democratic National Committee's servers ! ! !

Let's review a few pieces of history, such as: Now based on the articles linked above, I propose to you that it is VERY POSSIBLE AND CREDIBLE
On the other side of the issue is: Now, I trust former Senator Jim DeMint, and I trust Rush and Glenn.
But all former Senator Jim DeMint has is the document he was shown and briefed upon, and they came from a corrupted agency under Obama and his minions.

In closing, let me make it clear that

So, reading between the lines, Crowdstrike leaked the Dim emails at their request so the Dims could later claim it was the dirty old Ruskies?

So this was their backup plan all along? It doesn’t make total sense, but truth is stranger than fiction because good fiction has to make sense.
