The time has come to end these vain/dangerous, totally unnecessary, exhibitions.

Air shows are fine, but these “stunt” acts are not worth the risks.

What stunt were they in the process of performing?

They are not "stunts" they are routine flying maneuvers tailored for precision demonstration.

The aerial demonstration squadron has had it's place in our society since the birth of aviation. They recruit many personnel to the USAF. When is the last time you saw a USAF recruiting commercial on TV? How come they draw 250K people to airshows for just one hour of flying demonstration?

And yes, military aviation is in itself a dangerous profession. About 77 per 1,000 pilots in military flight training right now, will die before they reach retirement age due to an aircraft accident. The loss rate for the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels is stastically lower than for the USAF/USN fleet.
