Years ago, I worked in NYC. I went walking one day looking for Trump Tower - this was before Google Maps and smart phones. I got to the intersection, but I didn’t know what corner it was on. As I was looking around, I saw it, and I took it all in.
After a bit, I realized there was a yellow Mercedes sports car on the side street. Its driver, with a large shock of blond hair had been there the whole time - SHAKING THE HAND OF THE JANITOR who’s job it was to sweep off the gutter/sidewalk in front of the building’s garage door. Who else but Trump would take a very extended time to personally thank someone who is probably one of the lowest in the corporate org chart? After about 3 minutes, I walked away, and the car, driver and janitor were all still there.
People can sense that, and THAT is why he is admired and respected - unlike 0bama, Hitlary, Pelosie, McPain, etc. Trump is a guy you could work for, and feel good about your job.
That’s a Readers Digest story!!
And yes, it’s incredible
I said hi and would chat with the janitor for a few.
I was VERY LOW on the totem pole when it came to investment banking employee rankings :)
The Managing Directors wouldn’t even glance at them.
I was at Rock Plaza, not far from the big guy.
Shook his hands a couple of time too :)
