As if the Russia probe didn’t feel enough like a soap opera, now comes word that two of the major players have a familial connection. Richard Cullen, partner at McGuireWoods, was recently hired as Mike Pence’s attorney. Turns out Cullen is close with another attorney turned blogging fodder, James Comey. So close, in fact, that Cullen is the godfather to one of Comey’s daughters. As Philly.com reports:
But other parts of his resume attracted even more interest. For three years, Cullen worked at a Richmond law firm with a central figure of the Russia investigation: FBI Director James Comey, who was just fired by Pence’s boss, President Trump.
And not only is Cullen his “close associate,” as news reports described, but he is also the godfather of one of Comey’s daughters.
Fascinating.
The world of truly elite prosecutors and defense attorneys is small, so perhaps it isn’t surprising that there is this personal connection between key players in this national saga. But given the competing interests involved, well, it could make summer barbecues just a little awkward.
Pence needs to FIRE CULLEN ASAP!!!
So the regulations being overturned, the Supreme court nomination, the decimation of the gangs, 70 decrease in illegal entries, the changes on the international front, the change in energy policy and many more accomplishments that President Trump has demonstrated in 154 days mean nothing to you? The fact that he’s hired a tremendously talented and vigorous cabinet and is filleting the bureaucracy so what?
In your mind all President Trump deserved is curse words because he has hired some talent that you don’t like?
Does he discuss his reasons with you? In many cases hiring someone who is associated with the enemy is a coup. It allows you access into strategies and thought processes that give you leverage.
You may not be able to swim with the sharks but President Trump is; that’s why he was the right man, the only man who could clean up Washington DC.
Don’t care....Comey is at the CENTER of all this and he is best friends with him!!
You do that because you are an honorable person. Even you could have experienced the situation where you have grown apart from someone because they have fallen into duplicitous dealings or succumbed to the lures of power and $.
It is not constructive to see the world as static and unidimensional. To understand President Trump instead of reacting one needs to step back and ask where is the tactical advantage in this move, what may he be trying to accomplish.

Few recall Gore-Lick and F’em Raines etc etc ... All these folks learned early— The biggest TEAT is the one in Washington,D.C.Both sides milk it dry at every turn they get being in power in DC.
Why are you so vehement on this issue with flaming caps at every turn? I think you have not had experience in this arena or you would understand that things are not always what they seem.
You cannot use the broad brush to paint an accurate picture. There is no substitute for meeting the people and for talking to mutual acquaintances to find out what someone is really like.
In these circles alliances shift and the appearance of closeness is often used for reflected glory or access to someone else.

At least two of the TV lawyers have mentioned Mueller could be disbarred if he pulls any funny business. I’m sure he will be reminded more than once of that option
