Earlier today, Senate Republicans finally revealed their secret health care bill. And to say the reception was tepid would be kind. Besides the expected heavy criticism from Democrats including former President Barack Obama a number of GOP senators expressed their opposition.
A group of four Senate Republicans has already come out to say they are currently a no on the bill, effectively killing it where it stands. Now, you can add another to the list.
During an appearance on MSNBCs MTP Daily, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) explained that she just couldnt support a bill that would end up leaving more Americans without health coverage.
With host Chuck Todd noting that she was already a skeptic of the House-passed bill, Collins was asked what was her line in the sand when it came to whether she could support the Senate one.
I cant support a bill that will greatly increase premiums for our older Americans, she said. I cannot support a bill that is going to result in tens of millions of people losing their health insurance.
The Maine lawmaker added that she also couldnt support a bill that made deep cuts to Medicaid while also stating that she does care that funding to Planned Parenthood is being impacted.
However, she did let Todd know that while she is expressing severe reservations right now, she will wait until the Congressional Budget Office releases its score of the bill next week.
I hope this bill fails. It will lead to a schism within the Republican Party. The same sort suffered by the Whigs and led to the creation of a new party. And now the Republican Party has now run its course and the working American public knows it.
However, you can support a bill that steals money from productive people to give to the nonproductive leeches.
Tar and feathers are too good for you.
It all seems hopeless to me. I wasn’t expecting much though. I found out a long time ago all politicians lie.
What’s with the tremor accent that those people have in the far northeast? They sound like they have a palsy. Drives me nuts to listen to them
Did she vote for ACA?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No republican or rino did, not one.
Hey Senator! Are you repeating the lie or was this your idea?
Who does she think she’s kidding. She would be against it no matter what!
What about the people who lost insurance because of ACA?
What about the people who have a piece of paper that says they have insurance, but have no actual healthcare.
25 GOP Senators Vote to Give Reid Cloture, Allowing Simple Majority to Restore Obamacare Funding
The Republican Party is nothing but a bunch of bullshit liars.
Good. Let Obamacare go bust next year. The illegals & denizens of the welfare nation have never stopped going to the emergency rooms for their health care anyway, while billions of our tax dollars disappeared into the black hole of Obamacare.
Cost, Cost, Cost. That is the thing that has to be addressed and yet neither party will do so. Big Pharma and Insurance spend somewhere between $600 Million to $1 Billion on Lobbying. Everyone that needs to be bought has been bought.
Health Care costs are going to consume the Federal Budget, with costs growing at 9.3% compounded on an annual basis it is already 1/3 of the Budget and growing. along with has Interest on the Debt.
Sometime in the next few years we will be confronted with harsh choices and yet the idiots in Congress refuse to confront this and make any effort to educate the public.
Obamacare done it’s job, it has gotten people hooked into believing that Health Care is a right and cost be damned.
The woman is a moron
GOP Sen. Collins on Health Care Bill:
I Cannot Support a Bill That Takes Insurance From Millions
But I fully support a bill that extorts billions of dollars from working taxpayers to buy health insurance
for illegal aliens, American hating muslims, lazy moochers, gang bangers and 4th generation welfare breeders.
STFU you stupid Democrat WENCH!!!
Forget about getting this Senator’s vote. We need 50 out of the other 51 Republicans.
Won’t support taking unaffordable insurance from folks and replacing it with affordable insurance. Ok, Suze. Got it.
Why should my hard earned money be taken from me and used to pay for someone else’s health care? Haven’t heard any politicians answer this one.
Collins is a ass, and is disconnected from her constituents and reality.
The Wigs? Really?
