The newly activated Democratic base -- the resistance! -- was tripping over itself for a fight. Their money arrived down South by the truckload. The Republican President's approval ratings are in the tank. And yet, another Election Day is gone, and Democrats are again asking where it all went wrong.
By late Tuesday night, the answers were rolling in. Prominently mixed into this dog's breakfast of recriminations, mostly from the party's activist left, there is at least one recurring thread: Democrats do not have, either by omission or commission, a cohesive economic message. Operatives and consultants peddle tactics, electoral "paths" to power, but after eight years of riding President Barack Obama, mistaking his talents for their own, the brain trust is unable to drive the party.

Approval ratings only count in an election.
As usual, CNN has it wrong.
The Dems need to keep doing what they have been doing.
In fact, they should double down on the leftist/socialist agenda.
THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO DEPLORABLES!
The Democrats running today’s party DO have an aim.
To make as much ch money for themselves as possible.
But they will never admit it out loud.
0bamacare screwed the working class, and nobody on the Dem side of the house even appears to realize it despite getting creamed in that demographic. They never even asked. And so far as the "billionaires and the ruling class" goes, the rest of us see them every time we watch a television screen, and they're all Democrats.
Oh, and "working class people of all races" is pretty telling. It must hurt to have to include white working class people, especially men, in this age when White Privilege and systemic misandry are official party doctrine. That one isn't going to be easy to fix unless the deep social thinkers can be persuaded to shut the hell up for one campaign. Which they won't.
Most of the billionaires are Democrats—not likely the Democrats will be the ones to turn on their benefactors.
Calling Marxists/Socialists/Collectivists “progressives” is like calling homosexuals “gay”. The label is a deceitful nicety.

Dems have an economic message:
Steal from your neighbor and give to you.
It is just that it doesn't work anymore. Some people have awakened.
