FBI Claims Attempted GOP Assassinations Are ‘Assault’ — NOT Terrorism
Daily Caller ^ | June 21, 2017 | Peter Hasson

The FBI is treating the attempted mass assassination of Republican lawmakers as “assault” and not terrorism, FBI Assistant Director in Charge Andrew Vale announced at a press conference Tuesday morning.

“At this time the FBI has assessed that the deceased shooter, James T. Hodgkinson, acted alone. We also assess that there was no nexus to terrorism. The FBI is investigating the shooting as an assault of a member of Congress and assault on a law enforcement officer,” Vale said.

The FBI has long-defined terrorism as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives[."] (My italics.)

Just a series of “lone wolf” attacks, or of pairs of lone wolves, or small pack of lone wolves. Also, copy cat attacks. Nothing to connect the dots. Just like Black Lives Matter and radical Islam.

That’s an interesting definition. I’ve always thought of terrorism being defined because of its randomness. Last Wednesday, Republican HOR members were specific targets. That’s assassination.

The act carried out by James T. Hodgkinson fits the FBI’s terrorism definition to a tee. The MSM, disgruntled democrats, GOPes, the deep state and others have been waging a terrorist-inciting campaign since Trump was elected.

Then Timothy McVeigh was not an act of terrorism. Neither was the Giffords shooting.

The FBI has to keep the terrorist acts down as low as possible so they look like they’re protecting you. Therefore, work place violence doesn’t count.

Calling this attack an 'assault' is fine, or even better "assassination attempt". But to call it 'terrorism' would be to confuse it with the term we often use when Muslims or ISIS are the perpetrators.

Sorry, but this is a case of terrorism as defined by the FBI and federal code. The murderer was trying to intimidate a political party and its elected representatives in the furtherance of political objectives.

We have a history of domestic terrorism like the Black Liberation Army, the Weathermen, Ayran Nations, Animal Liberation Front, etc.

"Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85)

Terrorism is a practice, not a belief system, and the FBI properly defines it as, “the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.”, as noted at post no. 14. Thus, it can be Islamic, communist, Nazi, KKK, or by anyone else who engages in the defined actions. By that definition this was a direct, deliberate act of terrorism. The FBI is willfully violating its own rules to cover for the DemonCrap party, just as Obola did in the case of Nadal Hassan, the Fort Hood Islamic terrorist.

That’s an interesting definition. I’ve always thought of terrorism being defined because of its randomness.

Sorry, but randomness is not necessary to be an act of terrorism. It can be a directed attack against a specific target or targets. In this case it appears it was directed against the GOP members of Congress. Trump was also mentioned by him as a traitor who needed to be destroyed along with his supporters.

Last Wednesday, Republican HOR members were specific targets. That’s assassination.

Assassination and terrorism are not mutually exclusive.

It’s only terrorism if you’re the one who gets shot or killed.

It’s only assassination if liberals and their protected classes are the target. People who are white, male, heterosexual, and/or conservative are fair game, at least according to the FBI and federal government.

Got that? Good.

Now you know what you’re up against.

I agree with many commenters that this was not terrorism. Terrorism requires using a political motive in targeting civilians to spread fear.

Generating fear was not Hodgkinson's goal. He targeted Republican Congressmen to eliminate those he saw as political opponents. This was an attempted political assassination x20.

FBI Assistant Director in Charge Andrew Vale must be burnishing his resume to send to Mueller.

Was Hodgkinson trying to intimidate or coerce a government in furtherance of political objectives? Don't you think killing GOP elected representatives is an attack on government? Of course this is terrorism pure and simple.

Here is another example:

The United States Capitol shooting incident of 1954 was an attack on March 1, 1954, by four Puerto Rican nationalists; they shot 30 rounds from semi-automatic pistols from the Ladies' Gallery (a balcony for visitors) of the House of Representatives chamber in the United States Capitol. They wanted to highlight their desire for Puerto Rican independence from US rule.

Celerbrations and outrage as Puerto Rican terrorist goes free

“It’s really sickening,” said former NYPD Detective Anthony “Tony” Senft, 70, who lost an eye while trying to defuse a bomb planted by FALN — or Armed Forces of National Liberation — at the Brooklyn federal courthouse in 1982.

“They’re making him a folk hero, and he’s a terrorist. They’re making this guy like Robin Hood.”
