The United States flew two bombers over the Korean Peninsula on Tuesday, the Air Force said, the day after the death of University of Virginia student Otto Warmbier, who was detained in North Korea for more than a year.
The move was a demonstration of force, and one that has occurred several times this year after the country conducted ballistic missile tests.
The two B-1B Lancers conducted two joint drills with the Japanese and South Korean air forces, which were meant to show solidarity among the three countries to "defend against provocative and destabilizing actions in the Pacific theater," the Air Force said.

I'm trying to imagine being Otto's mom, but what was he doing there in the first place? The flyover was probably a proportional response. I would love to see them, too, if I was on US soil. Not anywhere else except maybe Australia. Saw the Stealth bomber fly over once. Unforgettable.

Flying bombers over a neighboring country doesn’t send a message. A couple well placed bombs would send a message.

Should be a couple supersonic B-1s at tree top level over Pyongyang shattering every window in that hell hole.

WHY couldn’t we drop some bombs on their missile sites?? How would they be able to retaliate then?

Well, for one thing (according to Obama and Kerry), it would make them really angry.

Well, they could lob tens of thousands of artillery shells into Seol, South Korea pretty quickly.

Since they voted in a leftist government and stopped our THAAD deployment, I've found it very difficult to care whether Seoul gets shelled. We need to do what we need to do to protect ourselves, and if the South Koreans have decided to become suicidal, then so be it.
Besides, all of my portable electronics are Apple, not Samsung, so unless the North decides to attack China, I'm good.

Kind of makes you wonder how many MOABs would be needed to pre-emptively eliminate that threat.

There is a lot of unkicked KorCom ass north of the 38th Parallel. I’m a 74-year old disabled vet and wouldn’t going after them with my Smoky Mountain Oak cane and give those roaches a wood shampoo.

Sunday is the anniversary of the start of the Korean War (1950). I predict the Trump administration has picked that day to hit N. Korea. It would be symbolic.
