American Moviegoers See a Pro-Choice Bias in Hollywood (Poll)
Hollywood Reporter ^ | June 17, 2017 | Paul Bond

When it comes to the topic of abortion in films, the older the audience, the more likely they are to see pro-choice messages. Is Hollywood pushing a pro-choice agenda? Americans seem to think so.

Sure, movies like The Cider House Rules, Dirty Dancing and Fast Times at Ridgemont High make a strong case for legalized abortion, but pro-life groups have praised the likes of Arrival, Juno and even the raunchy comedy Knocked Up — all movies where lead female characters choose to give birth rather than abort.

When push comes to shove, though, moviegoers see more pro-choice messages in films than they do pro-life messages, according to a poll made public for the first time Friday.

The scientific poll, conducted by Barna Group, indicates that, when abortion is presented onscreen, 29 percent of Americans think Hollywood is favoring the pro-choice position, while 25 percent say it is favoring the pro-life position. Only 14 percent say no agenda is pushed, while 18 percent don’t recall seeing a movie in which the topic was even discussed.

I only recall one movie in my lifetime (I’m 56) in which abortion was discussed.
I’m only aware of one in the last 20 years, that being “Juno” where it was a main issue in the movie.

I remember when I stopped watching ER way back in the day. They convinced a woman with a lot of kids to have an abortion without her husband knowing about it. They’ve been pushing their baby murder agenda for decades.

Grandma (starring Lily Tomlin) is another one, but it was terrible and I never finished it.

Well, liberals love death. That we know. Abortion. Oregon is moving to murder dementia patients. They love iSlime which is, by definition, a death cult.

Yep. Liberals love death. As long as it's somebody's death.

I never saw it but The Cider House Rules is supposed to be about the topic.

The title is a BS misdirection. Yes, often the female will choose to keep the baby. But what is never questioned is the absolute merit in abortion as a right.

Shocking!

Next they will report that Hollywood has a pro-homosexual agenda!

Just shocking.

Pro-Baby Murder, not “Pro-Choice”.

Anyone truly “pro-choice” would insist on showing the sonograms of the baby to both parents AND making them watch “The Silent Scream” before killing the baby.

Just so everyone involved knows exactly what they are choosing.
