A hospice nurse TRIED to off my mom 20 years ago - Thank God the nurse going off shift said something. A supervisor was called away from her Memorial Day picnic to remove the offending nurse. We all knew Mom was dying - no one was going to push her!
Mom died peacefully the next morning.
Later, when we filed a complaint with the State Licensing folks, we were told that she wasn’t going to do anything that was outside the way the prescription was written.
Sarah Palin was right.
Mentally Ill?
Depression?
OCD?
Anxiety?
I can't see forcing food down a choking and aspirating patient...
I can't see not trying to feed a patient that can swallow some and is still wanting to be fed...
having experiences in many life vs death scenarios, personal and professional, I'll say this...
be careful what you sign...
watch out for Hospice....you can go on Hospice but maybe you want to live as long as you can,but Hospice will only pay for/allow you certain things..
I wouldn't go on Hospice at all...
and those forms you sign for CPR/etc...
it sounds like this new legislation would lump ordinary oral feedings in with tube feedings...so if you sign that you don't want tube feedings, you might also be signing up to not be fed at all...
Lock UP the ENTIRE Oregon Senate for DENENTIA.
Of course they did
Wow.
actually, it was Nora’s good old husband that sued to have the staff stop feeding her....it was his idea...he lost in court but now its a law....
Well, I understand.
Hospice gives me the chills.
I am 100% on my own, no close relatives and very few distant, no assets that would make me valuable to the goverment or anyone else so I feel like a prime target for deathcare
If a real organized civil war that has a chance at all starts I will sacrifice all, but I am NOT by any stretch a lonewolf idiot
the system is what it is, just have to learn how to survive and enjoy Gods gifts
Oregon Senate Votes To Allow Dementia Patients To Be Starved To Death
A bill allowing the starvation and dehydration of dementia and mentally ill patients against their will passed the Oregon Senate 17-13 on June 8.
SB494 would remove safeguards in Oregon law that protect the right of patients to receive food and water as part of basic treatment. It would give healthcare representatives power to potentially coerce doctors into starving patients against their will.

Obamacare was designed to kill off the older population while leaving mostly-younger skulls full of mush in America to become “citizens of the world”.
Those who remember what America was and what it stood for; a decreasing population.
As someone said, Palin was correct. Yet I know someone (online) who searched for “death panels” and concluded it wasn’t in there, so she was wrong.

Exactly ! The socialist in power like the populations young and stupid so they stay in power.
Obamacare is very evil
Nora filled out the directive to not be fed, if and when her conditioned deteriorated, but the state knows better.
Oregon’s way of meeting the Elite’s goal of 90% reduction in planetary population to reduce global warming...
He's home, leading a relatively normal life. I'm thinking the pain killers did some permanent damage.
I'm thinking it through. If his wife hadn't gotten a second opinion, he'd still be on pain killers in a nursing home and probably 100% sunk into "vascular dementia". Next step....starve these people to death?
After that, the only pain killer I'll ever take is blackberry brandy. I'd rather have a hangover than be diagnosed with dementia!
This is anecdotal, of course. Since this has happened I've paid closer attention to those in their 60s and over who are on pain killers. I want to for myself develop an informed opinion about if pain killers cause memory loss.
Single payer death panels. Sarah Palin nailed it early.
